  This place is honestly a joke. I brought my dog in and they completely made up a diagnosis, saying she had diarrhea when she didn’t even have it. Then they threw her on random medication that she didn’t need, and some only for the symptoms, instead of actually figuring out what was wrong. What’s even worse is, we paid for her bloodwork and it literally showed dangerously high potassium levels and they just ignored it. Didn’t treat it, didn’t warn me, nothing. They sent her home like everything was fine, and a day later she ended up getting so bad she had to be hospitalized, put on oxygen, fighting for her life. When I called them out on it, instead of owning their mistake, they tried to blame me for not paying for an X-ray that wasn’t even necessary in the first place. The issue was right there in front of them in the results they already had. Other Banfield doctors at other locations even called out their malpractice saying as professionals they should have sent her to the ER immediately! Completely careless and unprofessional. They’d rather cover themselves than actually take responsibility for putting an animal at risk. I wouldn’t trust them with a goldfish, let alone a dog.

  I recently switched from the Alexandria location to the Bethesda location, and the difference has been night and day. At the previous location, I rarely got to see my dog’s actual vet, and after appointments he sometimes came back looking messy, to the point that I had to clean him up myself. At the Bethesda location, the experience has been completely different. The veterinarian was very professional, attentive, and truly took the time to talk with me. Doctor Aziz is the best. He walked me through all of my dog’s lab results, explained the medications he will be taking, and answered all of my questions patiently. I felt respected and included in my dog’s care. The clinic is well organized, not overly crowded with too much appointments, and the staff seems genuinely present and caring. I’m very happy with the care my dog received here and would definitely recommend this location.

  Truly the best!! We took our puppy for his first ever visit and the staff was just wonderful. You can see how much they care for you and your pet, it’s not just business. Renata and Dr. Azizi are wonderful at what they do. And their front desk ladies are dedicated to exceptional customer service. Highly recommend Banfield at Bethesda!

  We had such a wonderful experience! The doctors truly go above and beyond to squeeze us in whenever my pet isn’t feeling well, which means so much during stressful times. They take the time to thoroughly explain why certain tests are necessary to properly diagnose what’s going on — just like in human medicine, you can’t treat something accurately without the right information. After running the appropriate tests, we received the right medication, and my pet was back to her normal, happy self within just a few days. Dr. Aziz and Dr. Um are exceptional veterinarians, and the entire nursing staff is just as amazing. Everyone was compassionate, attentive, and genuinely caring. I’m so grateful for the excellent care they provided to my pet. Highly recommend!
