I’ve been there 3 times. All 3 times they told me my dog needed surgery for 3 different things. All 3 times they gave me a quote of about $10,000 for the surgery. They told that I should leave my dog there and pick him up the next day after he’s had his surgery. All 3 times I said no, “I’ll just bring him home and see if it just gets better on its own.” All 3 times whatever issue he was having cleared up on its own and he was 100% fine a couple days later. Thank god I didn’t take the advice of the doctor like 99% of all you dog lovers do. Remember, it’s business. They very nicely explain the problem your dog is having and seem very sympathetic etc. I know all you dog lovers out there consider your dog a part of your family as do I but please just listen to me. Mother nature has ways of healing your dog better than the $10,000 surgery. I know you won’t listen to me and you’ll think “but it’s different for my dog and his particular issue”…no it’s not. Don’t listen to the doctor. Atleast delay whatever surgery they are scaring you into. Just delay it for a few days or a week. Give it a chance to heal on its own and almost always it does. Save yourself 10k and even worse than you blowing 10k is that your poor dog getting an unneeded surgery. How do you think they keep that nice hospital going with all those doctors and employees? Not by saying “take him home, it’ll most likely clear up on its own in a few days. JUST SAY NO. I know most people won’t listen, but atleast I tried to talk sense into you. I saved $30k and my dog is a happy 16 year old and still going strong.

I can’t recommend Woburn Animal Hospital enough to the point I had to leave another review! Dr. Turner, Dr. Bysko, and Dr. Carchedi play such a vital role in my life. They truly care about every detail of my pet's health and well-being. Romeo and Riley absolutely adore them, and it’s easy to see why; their kindness, expertise, and gentle approach make every visit a positive experience. The front staff are just as amazing! Always warm, welcoming, and incredibly organized. They make every appointment smooth and stress-free, and their genuine love for animals shines through in everything they do. This entire team goes above and beyond for their patients and their humans alike. I feel so lucky to have such caring, talented people taking care of Romeo and Riley. They’re more than vets and staff; they’re part of our family.

Tried to convince me my dog was not sick from a tick bite and it was his “terrible twos”, tried to get me to sign up for training meanwhile he had a tick bite with a bull eye rash, went to Andover animal hospital where they took me seriously and his Lyme antibodies were the highest they’d ever seen, was better after a few doses of doxycycline ….
