  They chose to tell me they wouldn't sell me any fish because they were short-staffed—even though they were standing at the register doing nothing, with my products already in my hand—simply because they couldn't be bothered to move to get them for me.

  I know it's not necessarily the most updated store, and the computer system feels like it's powered by a series of hamster wheels because it's so slow, but I really like the store. I really like the staff.

  Petco emailed me saying I'd earned two $5 coupons. "Come on down and spend them!" So I did. They were having a tank sale. Despite the mixed reviews on the Imagitarium line, I figured a 2.5-gallon rimmed tank was low-risk. How bad could it be? Laughably bad. I got it home, set it on a level stand, and the frame was so badly warped it couldn't get all four corners on the surface at the same time. I'd heard about issues with the rimless Imagitariums, but if they can't manufacture a 2.5-gallon rimmed tank correctly, that's a different problem entirely. Went back to exchange it. The employee explained they couldn't do an exchange, that I'd have to return it and repurchase. Fine, no problem. Except the return didn't credit back the $10 in store coupons I'd used. The only reason I came in at all was because Petco emailed me saying I had $10 expiring soon. I used that money on one of their own products, which turned out to be defective, and now the $10 just evaporates! That's not a policy, that's a trap. For what it's worth, the staff here have always been friendly and knowledgeable. This isn't about them. It's about a corporate policy that punishes customers for using incentives the company itself sends out. Fifteen years of buying cat litter here. I just set up a recurring Chewy delivery. I won't be back.

  I honestly cannot say enough good things about this Petco location and the incredible team here — especially Robin (Assistant Manager) and Kathy (General Manager). We recently adopted our bird, Tilly, who came with the 30-day health guarantee. Shortly after bringing her home, I noticed she had an upset stomach and immediately called the store. Robin answered and patiently walked me through what can be normal when bringing a new bird home vs. what to watch for. She encouraged me to call back if things didn’t improve, which gave me so much reassurance! A couple days later, I still wasn’t comfortable, so they advised me to bring Tilly in. When I arrived, Kathy was there and personally explained the entire process and assured me Tilly would be well cared for. And she meant it. Kathy actually took Tilly to the vet herself the same day! Throughout the entire time Tilly was being monitored, I received consistent updates. Anytime I called, both Robin and Kathy were incredibly kind, patient, and reassuring. Our family missed Tilly terribly, but we truly felt she was in the best possible hands. They didn’t just follow policy — they genuinely cared. You can tell they love their animals and their customers. That level of compassion is rare, and it made a stressful situation so much easier. I will forever recommend this store. Robin and Kathy are absolute gems, and I’m so grateful for the care they gave our little Tilly. 🐦💛
