Instead of getting better, my senior cat developed hypothyroidism as a result of this very expensive treatment. And there was no call from the vet at radiocat, no post-treatment discussion, no one there to follow up with when this happened, and of course no refunds. I was just left facing more vet visits and fees and new, different medications. So be aware: this is a chain operation. You speak with a their remote coordinator only, and that's it. There is no face-to-face interaction with anyone directly involved with treating your pet. If I could go back in time, I would have taken her to Angell, where they start off with a consult visit and you speak with the techs, vets, and everyone involved.
Radiocat claims that hypothyroidism very rare outcome, but it doesn't feel that rare when it happens to your cat. And since there isn't much transparency in their entire process, how can anyone be sure the percentages they quote are accurate, or truthful?
Also, her radiation readings were also still completely off the charts long after she was discharged. Based on my conversations with Angell, it seems like that's something they are far more cautious about.

I'm generally pleased with having this option, given that our cat couldn't take the medicine. Much of what happened was professional with them, but there were several issues that bothered me. 1) They asked for credit card information in a form that is not secure (Adobe Acrobat Sign) and not intended for that purpose. I called it out, but they're going to continue to do that anyway I suspect. 2) It was very annoying to get them on the phone to set this up : basically there one person, you ALWAYS have to leave a voicemail, then they call you back at random times. Further, they insist on several parts of the transaction happening on the phone. 3) Their list of required tests was egregious. Basically it doubled their price. In our case, they also forced us to redo any past tests we had had. Speaking out of the other side of their mouth, they also told us that their procedure is very small, has almost no complications, etc. So why all the tests? I think they are basically externalizing their liability to us the customer : they want all the evidence they can get such that any events in their care could be blamed on other conditions. As a minor example : why can't I clip our cats claws in advance, rather than having to pay to have the vet do it. Customer service here left something to be desired, but they're currently a monopoly here, so not a lot of reason to focus on it.

I am very disappointed with my experience at Radiocat. The treatment did nothing for my cat's thyroid levels. I doubt I will want to pay again so it's back to the medication and minus $1600.
