Bond Vet — Somerville brings modern, convenient vet care to the Somerville neighborhood of Boston, at Assembly Row. At Bond Vet, our mission is to strengthen the human-animal bond through better vet care. Founded by a female veterinarian, we’re a doctor-forward practice elevating the quality of vet care through improved design, technology and culture. Bond Vet is unique for offering both primary and urgent care for pets, which means our doctors can see your pet (typically same-day) for any symptoms that necessitate timely medical attention — think: a wound, limping, GI issues, persistent cough, a rash, a behavioral change or other non-life-threatening symptoms. It’s easy to make an appointment — you can walk in, book online or call ahead to book an appointment. We opened in 2019 and pioneered the veterinary urgent care space, pointing out a need for timely but not emergency care, especially when it comes to symptoms that could worsen with time. Our clinical team brings experience from both general practice and emergency medicine, enabling us to offer a comprehensive range of services, from annual wellness exams and spay/neuter to vaccines, mass removals, dental cleanings, and specialty surgery, all under one roof. We know pets and pet parents typically don’t enjoy vet visits, and our team is working to change that. A Bond Vet clinic is clean, welcoming and well-lit, with all-natural treats, sniffable spaces, toys, comfortable furniture, and hydration stations. Our caring and compassionate team is knowledgeable and thorough during the exam, providing best-in-class vet care for your dog or cat. We started Bond Vet because we believe vet care should be more convenient. To that end, our in-house tech team builds better veterinary tools (with input from our doctors) to do just that — hence our easy online booking (often same-day or next-day), electronic records and more. And in the event you can’t get to a Bond Vet clinic, we offer telehealth services, and we can even prescribe and deliver medication if our treatment plan calls for it. Because we know vet visits can feel overwhelming, we’re committed to offering our clients multiple options for treatment, next steps and diagnostic testing along with pricing, and we’ll never pressure you to spend or do more next steps than you’re comfortable doing. And after treatment, we’ll help you file pet insurance claims to help save you time and money. We started Bond Vet to modernize the vet care experience for pets and pet parents, and we hope you enjoy our approach. Bring your pet to our clinic for an exam, whether you need primary or urgent care. Bond Vet - Somerville is located at 320 Foley Street. Call, walk in or book online at bondvet.com.

It’s important to actually be transparent regarding pet care and the cost of treatment and services at BondVet. Despite transparency being part of BondVet’s values on the website, I unfortunately didn’t experience that. My puppy wasn’t feeling well and the medication I received was $75. I found out that the same medication (same brand, dosage and instructions) was $25 from the pharmacy. The vet could’ve written a prescription to the pharmacy or at least informed me that was the case rather than me finding out on my own that I paid triple the amount. When we come to the vet, we want and appreciate the services given to help our pets but I shouldn’t feel like I’m being lied to about the cost.

I would not recommend this place or Bond Vet as a whole. While the company prides itself for transparent costs, there is a reason it is not clearly listed on their website. My experience was anything but transparent. After my dog was checked, the vet told me how much the cost of care would be before they proceeded. Everything was fine and I signed off. Then, after they completed care and I went to the counter to pay and total had changed and increased by almost 50%. I don’t understand how there could be such a discrepancy from the cost discussed and what I was forced to pay.

Their travel team's coordination has been an absolute nightmare, it blows my mind that they upsell this as a premium service when they have thrown us so many curveballs. We've been working with them on this for months to ensure proper lead time, but they have done their best to crash out repeatedly in the very last minute. For one, we've been hit with several cases of them not being able to find their own visit records and assuring us they didn't have them. My brother in christ, when you charge what you're charging, I can't be CTRL-F for you, you gotta hit those keys on your own. Later, as soon as the shutdown hit they emailed us claiming that the USDA-APHIS office was affected and couldn't handle the process. I had to find someone working there to verify that the coordinator was entirely talking nonsense as the office was deemed essential and no such thing had occurred. Last night we got an email from a new address with an odd domain notifying us that we weren't answering our phones, they couldn't leave messages, that our dog's vaccination (from them, courtesy of the travel team) was insufficient, and that we would likely need to postpone our travel. We have zero missed calls from them. Turns out they were right though. We immediately lost faith in them after that curve ball, reached out to another travel vet team, and got all of our documentation over. These vets confirmed that the Bond Travel team had not administered the correct vaccine, so now we need to get another and reschedule everything at both ends. They're nice in the office and kind to the pets, but If I could give a negative star to their travel coordinator I would. You'll see a couple other folks working with their travel coordinator said the same.
