Bond Vet — Somerville brings modern, convenient vet care to the Somerville neighborhood of Boston, at Assembly Row. At Bond Vet, our mission is to strengthen the human-animal bond through better vet care. Founded by a female veterinarian, we’re a doctor-forward practice elevating the quality of vet care through improved design, technology and culture. Bond Vet is unique for offering both primary and urgent care for pets, which means our doctors can see your pet (typically same-day) for any symptoms that necessitate timely medical attention — think: a wound, limping, GI issues, persistent cough, a rash, a behavioral change or other non-life-threatening symptoms. It’s easy to make an appointment — you can walk in, book online or call ahead to book an appointment. We opened in 2019 and pioneered the veterinary urgent care space, pointing out a need for timely but not emergency care, especially when it comes to symptoms that could worsen with time. Our clinical team brings experience from both general practice and emergency medicine, enabling us to offer a comprehensive range of services, from annual wellness exams and spay/neuter to vaccines, mass removals, dental cleanings, and specialty surgery, all under one roof. We know pets and pet parents typically don’t enjoy vet visits, and our team is working to change that. A Bond Vet clinic is clean, welcoming and well-lit, with all-natural treats, sniffable spaces, toys, comfortable furniture, and hydration stations. Our caring and compassionate team is knowledgeable and thorough during the exam, providing best-in-class vet care for your dog or cat. We started Bond Vet because we believe vet care should be more convenient. To that end, our in-house tech team builds better veterinary tools (with input from our doctors) to do just that — hence our easy online booking (often same-day or next-day), electronic records and more. And in the event you can’t get to a Bond Vet clinic, we offer telehealth services, and we can even prescribe and deliver medication if our treatment plan calls for it. Because we know vet visits can feel overwhelming, we’re committed to offering our clients multiple options for treatment, next steps and diagnostic testing along with pricing, and we’ll never pressure you to spend or do more next steps than you’re comfortable doing. And after treatment, we’ll help you file pet insurance claims to help save you time and money. We started Bond Vet to modernize the vet care experience for pets and pet parents, and we hope you enjoy our approach. Bring your pet to our clinic for an exam, whether you need primary or urgent care. Bond Vet - Somerville is located at 320 Foley Street. Call, walk in or book online at bondvet.com.
After comparing several vets in the area, we decided bond vet was the best!
Blake, my Yorkie, felt very comfortable coming here. First appointment, the vet was incredibly informative. It seems like she really cared about my pups well being. The space is clean, modern, and beautiful. There are complimentary doggy treats and the staff are very friendly. He will be coming back for spay/neuter surgery. We highly recommend bond vet.

Kind people, who you can tell really care about animals - and about the humans who keep them.
Dr Lungo and the caring staff were just the people I needed to be there through my little 14-year-old cat's terminal illness. They listened patiently to me, examined her gently but thoroughly, read carefully through her prior charts from a different vet. Then she gave her expert opinion and performed the tests necessary, but never pushed unnecessary treatments. They never gave me surprise bills, and if they ever made an error on an invoice they informed me about it before I even knew there was anything wrong, fixed it and issued a refund right away.
They were so caring and patient on Freya's final day. Always grateful for their kindness and compassion. I will definitely be bringing future pets here!
Also a side note, there is a 3-hour free parking garage right next to the clinic. (You just have to sign up for the parking company's app, but I've never yet been overcharged)

My first visit was rescheduled the same day from 7 PM to 5 PM, but I still waited over 1.5 hours to be seen. During that visit, the vet quickly suspected that my cat’s long-term overgrooming as environmental allergies and prescribed steroids, asking me to finish the course and return for a follow-up.
For the follow-up, I booked the same vet, but the clinic rescheduled my appointment AGAIN and I ended up seeing a different doctor. The new vet did not review my cat’s history/previous vet summary, didn’t reassess the skin condition, and even missed basic steps like weighing my cat. I had to explain everything myself and still charges me for like $200
To make things worse, I was told to order medication through Chewy, but the clinic has not approved the prescription. It’s been over a week and I still haven’t received the medication.

The staff is friendly but the practices are shady. I visited for the first time for my 2 cats initial shots appointment. Paid the doctor consultation fee and shots. When I go back 3 weeks later for their second round, the vet did another full body exam (even though we were there 3 weeks ago and had that done already), and before they started I stated multiple times that I was there for follow up shots only, nothing else. I had to pay another exam fee for both cats, which added up to almost $450. When I brought it up I was told they couldn’t do anything since the vet had already examined the cats (a 2 minute pat down). The manager was able to refund the difference for one of the cats visit and “downgrade” to a nurse visit price instead, which did not help much (maybe $40?). I wish I was told online appointments are not for nurse visits, and also wish they told me rabies shots need to be done with a vet and not a nurse. It would’ve saved me the first doctor exam fee. I paid the exam fee with a doctor twice for one cat in the span of one month. Very disappointed, won’t be back. Also, they ran about 15-20 min behind both times I was there.

I recently had to make the incredibly difficult decision to put my cat Shadow down due to heart failure, and I can’t say enough about how kind and compassionate the team at Bond Vet in Somerville was during such a painful time.
From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff treated me with genuine empathy and care. They were patient, understanding, and made a heartbreaking situation just a little more bearable. The doctor was equally wonderful—gentle, respectful, and incredibly compassionate. They took the time to explain everything clearly and gave me the space I needed to say goodbye.
Losing a pet is never easy, but the support and kindness I received here meant so much to me. I’m truly grateful for how they handled everything with such dignity and care. I would highly recommend Bond Vet to anyone looking for a veterinary team that truly cares about both pets and their owners.
