I took my dog here for the last year and while going I thought wow, they’re so kind, they don’t push agendas, they listen to me, they let me try things I want to try with him. But in early December I took him in because he was having seizures (not new just more frequent) and we needed medicine finally. I told them while I was there he had been coughing and gacking far more than normal (something I had been mentioning for months), I mentioned he seemed more tired and confused, I told them he had been throwing up more. They made a note. They came in, listened to his heart, checked all his things, watched a video of a seizure and said “ok here’s the seizure meds he’s healthy otherwise!” And sent me on my way. Cut to 12/21 when he once again started gacking until he threw up with such force he pooped and aspirated. We took him to the emergency vet. Aspiration pneumonia from throwing up trying to regulate his failing heart. He was in late stage heart disease. He had arrhythmia’s so bad he was passing out. Just after midnight on 12/22 I left the hospital without my best friend. I am fully aware that he would only have lived months longer had we caught it. But the fact that I told them all the key phrases that signify heart disease weeks earlier, and multiple times prior as he had been in four or five times during the year, they listened to his heart, and they didn’t hear ANYTHING wrong when he was in active heart failure is INSANE to me. They cost me precious months with my soul dog, my best friend in the entire world. He was robbed of the chance of having a proper last day where we did all of his favorite things, of the chance to be put to sleep in his home surrounded by ALL of his favorite people. Instead he passed in my arms with only myself and my sister with him, in a hospital, oxygen dependent, scared, and struggling. I will never forgive them for missing this when I told them the signs. Please don’t go here, you get what you pay for and I regret it so much. Since then I have been absolutely bombarded by emails from them reminding me of his overdue care, they approved and filled two of his prescriptions about half an hour AFTER I notified them. All of this after I told them he had passed. I have had to call Vetco, Petco, and Vital Care seven times to get them to stop spamming me with emails reminding me to take care of my dog who left us. Twelve, I received twelve emails of reminders for care, refilled prescriptions, and treats that needed ordering. Their compassion and empathy is non existent. Their professionalism and knowledge is even worse.

It was my first time in the office, I have used vetco clinic before. I was very happy with the care they provided my dog. The office was very clean and the staff was very friendly and took their time to listen to my concerns. I would highly recommend vetco. I also have vital care which gives me a discount.
