  This Petco isn’t terrible but I wish they would ask before saying hi and coming over to pet my dogs. I’ve had staff just come over and start saying hi and I’ve had a staff member get down on the floor with my dog and was having my dog jump all over them. What if my dog was aggressive and bit one of them? Or what if my dog was in training (which she is). The only other thing is that sometimes I’m waiting at the checkout for 5-10 minutes before someone is helping me and same with crickets. They have bell up there but sometimes it’s not heard by the staff members so then I’m running around trying to find someone which I shouldn’t really have to do. It would be nice to have a better system so the checkout process is easier and we as the customers aren’t running around trying to find a staff member to cash us out. Other than those few things, it’s not bad it’s relatively clean. The fish tanks are clean although sometimes you’ll see a dead fish or two but that’s not a huge deal. Staff are relatively nice although sometimes I feel rushed out of the store when checking out but it’s okay.

  I’ve been standing in the wet pet area for 30 minutes and there are 2 employees at the register with 3 girls gawking over their ferret. The older employee looked me dead in my face 3 times and went right back to what she was doing. Whether it’s this store in Great Barrington or the one in Pittsfield, the service is nearly the same with Pittsfield being a tad better but overall, Petco needs to do something about the service in these stores.
