words cant describe how much I hate this location. my dog is always leaving jumpy and stressed. the male vet thats blond or ginger or whatever is so weird and off-putting and I don't trust him with my dog. yeah just go to a different location unless you have like, a perfectly healthy dog. still wouldn't recommend.

TAKE YOUR PUPPY ANYWHERE ELSE.
I would give zero stars if I could.
We were never told we couldn’t cancel the “Optimum Wellness Plan.” Not once by three different employees while we were taking him for his introductory appointments.
We spent far too much money to be told “we couldn’t be seen” multiple times and to be told to go elsewhere for complications surrounding the neutering their team performed.
The worst part is that no one took any accountability for it. We brought our dog in twice after his procedure to be looked at for complications surrounding the neutering and were told his side effects of not being able to urinate properly and having smelly discharge were “normal” and would go away on their own. Or we could spend more money to run blood tests or further procedures that were also expensive. I must say I also HATED that they would bring the dog in the back to be examined instead of in front of us so we had no real idea what they were even looking at or discussing.
They brushed off our complaints both times, saying it was normal, and charged us another fee for wipes that also didn’t work. It wasn’t until we took him to a real animal hospital for an unrelated matter recently (after being turned away from Banfield South Boston AND Banfield Braintree) that they were able to tell us that something likely happened during his surgery that they weren’t owning up to.
We were so beyond fed up at this point, but we brought him in for a third and final visit two weeks ago, 6 months after his procedure to make sure something was done - where they finally admitted he “might” have a UTI.
That’s right - 6 months after we complained about it the first time. All they did was put him on a heavy duty antibiotic that made him sick for three days and still didn’t fix his problem. Then they said it could be an even worse infection and he’d need further expensive testing.
I will say the front desk staff is pleasant enough, but they must know what they’re doing to people behind the scenes. It’s insane.
Not only will we never be back, but we have told almost every single person we know with a pet never to step foot near a Banfield.
Oh and don’t even bother trying to call customer support, they will also gaslight you and tell you you’re locked into the ridiculous plan even if you don’t plan to continue going through them anymore.
It wasn’t until after we realized we were locked in that we saw the lawsuit info and realized we fell for the scam too.
We feel swindled, lied to, and manipulated, but mostly I’m sad my dog didn’t receive the treatment he deserved. We are now taking him to another vet who has been much more attentive of his needs and doesn’t try to get us to pay for unnecessary things or bait and switch us over procedures.
What a disgusting organization.

if i could give them 0 stars, i would. front desk staff is incredibly rude and is on a power trip. i called to tell them we were running 5 minutes late, just to be courteous, then they cancelled our appointment. we had taken off work, gotten an expensive uber, traveled across the city only to be dismissed because our visit became a “tech visit” for flea medication instead of seeing a doctor, which we were told in an email communication was necessary for getting flea medication in the first place. i don’t even understand how an appointment that was there in the first place can suddenly become unavailable. i asked to be seen anytime at all today, as we had taken the day off, but received a cold, unsympathetic “no”. when discussing what flea medication options we had, she offered a collar, which we didn’t want, or a liquid medication, the option we wanted, WHICH REQUIRED AN APPOINTMENT to even consider??? hello??? that’s why we had an appointment?? i have never been so upset. i’m never coming back. avoid this place.

Dr. Arthur was fantastic with our boy Sully. She took the time to explain any abnormalities in test results and although Sully is typically skiddish at the vet - he welcomed her with open paws like they’ve known each other for years. Thanks Dr. Arthur and the entire team at Banfield!
