- MGMckayla GonzalezOct 11, 20251.0I took my 13-month-old Pitbull puppy to Banfield, and had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a vet. A vet tech dragged my dog by her Martingale collar, choking her and terrifying her so badly that her glands expressed from stress. The staff refused to give her a moment to calm down and insisted I “drop her off,” even though I had a scheduled in-room appointment. They were rude, dismissive, and inconsistent, and the veterinarian backpedaled on prior statements—then pushed unnecessary anxiety medication and professional training, claiming my puppy had behavioral issues. She does not. It was painfully obvious my dog was being judged because she’s a Pitbull, and the staff’s fear and impatience showed clear breed discrimination. This visit left me furious and heartbroken. My dog deserves care, not cruelty. I will never return to Banfield and strongly urge other pet owners—especially bully-breed parents—to take their pets elsewhere.

However very occasionally the information I provide when I drop her off doesn’t seem be dealt with when I pick her up. I know they have many patients and this can happen. Other than that the service is great. On a personal note I feel like Dr Fox is the best

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
