Went to get my dog Chico's nails clipped and the young black vet tech with braids took him back and brought him back with in 2 mins if that when I got home I noticed his nails had not really been clipped! If you have staff like this they should be fired!

If your pet has an emergency cross your fingers Dr Marsha isn’t your vet. I was very detailed about my dog’s symptoms and she advised repeatedly it “wasn’t critical” when I asked about blood tests or xrays. She said it was likely behavioral/anxiety and there isn’t much to do other than observe. She sent me off with 2 cans of dog food and showed me how to check his heart rate. My dog didn’t improve over the next 48 hours and a different vet found a large tumor in his body and the blood test showed he had pancreatitis. He wouldn’t have lived more than a few more days and as a result I had to put him down. It is incredibly disappointing and angering to not be listened to. Although the outcome likely would’ve been the same it’s hard to think my dog suffered longer than necessary had the vet listened to my concerns. It’s an extremely busy vet so I understand long wait times, however it shouldn’t impact the level of attention and care paid to each animal just to get people out quicker. My family has visited Shively for years, but after this experience I will never go back. It’s worth driving to Hillside Animal Clinic in southern Indiana because they actually listen and show genuine care toward animals and their worried owners.

Dr Marsha just put down our 16 year old dog after a couple years of a downhill slide, it was time. Our hearts are broken and she spent time with us and made the horrible bearable, not to mention the care and time she has spent with us over the last couple of years. Lucy was a beautiful, wonderful heeler/border collie mix, we lost her yesterday and I'm glad we chose Shively. Great vets, absolutely most reasonable also. You have to sign in and return when they call you, it's an all-day affair, but for Lucy's euthanasia we called and walked right in. Highly recommend them...
