My dog goes to daycare and got kennel cough. First of all I am not a fan of these chain vets but I am an out of state college student and don’t have a regular vet to go to in Kentucky and they were the only place close that had an appointment the same day. I was also going home for the holidays and didn’t want to get our family dog sick. I had always been told to stay away from these places before and this was my first time to one of these so called “vets”. First they call me the morning of his appointment to move it because I knew it was kennel cough and they didn’t want him around a lot of dogs in the lobby. I completely understand so I moved it closer to the end of the day. So I get there, they let him in the main lobby, he’s coughing all over the place, let him on the scale, weigh him, doesn’t wipe anything down. What was the point of moving the appointment then? We get in the room and they tell me he has kennel cough (I knew that). They tell me they are going to prescribe me 2 antibiotics and a cough suppressant. After he takes all the medicine, he’s still coughing. I look at the visit summary and one of the antibiotics they give him is rimadyl. Rimadyl is not an antibiotic. It helps arthritis in dogs, reduces fever and inflammation. After all this I pay $265 ($85 office visit and $179 for antibiotic). I was also told it’s suggested I bring him back for more vaccines. He already has his rabies shot, lepto, DHPP and bordetella. Now it’s time to go home for the holidays and he’s still coughing. I end up having to take him to his regular vet back home. She prescribed me doxycycline (the most common antibiotic for kennel cough) and another antibiotic with a cough suppressant. Here I paid a $60 office visit and $45 for all antibiotics. We are on day 3 on the antibiotics and he is already coughing less and they called me to check up on him. I WILL NEVER SUGGEST ANY OF THESE CHAIN VETS TO ANYONE. THE ONLY THING THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE MONEY

Banfield told us our dog had eaten something and and a poop blockage, gave her meds. A few months later same thing happens, new vet finds out she actually had a tumor growing, which lead to her death a few later. I'LL NEVER TRUST ANY VET THAT WON'T LET YOU IN THE BUILDING DURING A VET VISIT. SHAME ON YOU
