Banfield Pet Hospital in Florence is an absolute disgrace. Their negligence and lack of basic communication put my cat Bambino’s health at risk and wasted our time, money, and trust. Our cat had been getting increasingly sick, so my roommate scheduled an appointment for Friday at 3 PM. We both work over 40 hours a week, and she specifically took time off work to make sure Bambino could be seen. The night before the appointment, Banfield called and casually suggested we take her to urgent care if she was sick that day. It was already nighttime, her appointment was less than 24 hours away, and we did not have the funds to suddenly take her to urgent care at the last minute—so we reasonably planned to keep the scheduled vet appointment. The next day, my roommate arrived TWENTY MINUTES EARLY for Bambino’s appointment, only to be told they had “filled” her appointment and gave it to someone else because they “assumed we went to urgent care.” Let that sink in. They made an assumption about our pet’s medical care, never confirmed it, never notified us, and then gave away the appointment we had scheduled and rearranged our work schedules for. To make it worse, Bambino’s name was STILL on their board, proving the appointment had not been properly canceled—and yet they claimed they “were going to contact us,” waiting until the very last minute like everything else. This is not just poor customer service—it’s reckless, negligent behavior when dealing with animals’ lives. Pets are not replaceable time slots. You do not get to make assumptions about medical care and then punish owners for not reading your minds. If you care about your pet’s health, your time, or basic professionalism, DO NOT go here. Banfield Florence has proven they cannot be trusted to handle even the most basic responsibility of honoring a scheduled appointment. Thankfully, another vet center understood the sense of urgency in Bambino getting seen TODAY. and we were able to make another appt that day for her. No thanks to the disappointment that is Banfield Pet Hospital.

DO NOT sign up for the wellness plan. I recused a dog and brought her to banfield to get a check up and shots. I signed up for the wellness plan. They told me I can cancel anytime. So about a week I called to cancel the plan after I paid $150 for her checkup. This was in February. I decided to not keep the dog and gave her to a wonderful family in March. Fast forward months later I AM STILL BEING BILLED for this plan and it’s OCTOBER. They say that I “owe” $865 for a service I have used once and cancelled and I don’t even have the dog anymore. I had no idea I was still being charged for this…… IT IS A SCAM I will be contacting the attorneys office and the news outlets to get this fraud company out there.

Our beloved fur baby has or was a patient here for many years. Ruby was seen about a month ago for a well check and it was noted that the lump on her leg was growing and hard. They laid out the options and my husband and I were okay letting her live her best life without getting further testing and possible surgery. A month later, that area became worse and a critical situation occurred over night or early am hrs. Banfield was called and our situation was told to them. My husband was told that there was no appts today. Our beloved dog needed to be seen or fit in on the schedule due to the severity of our situation ( mass bleeding). There was no sympathy and no accommodating us. Needless to say our 13 year old dog passed with great care and compassion at another animal care center. Banfield will no longer be my vet of choice. Rude and non compassionate. Darn shame to have my pets last memories be in a facility that she was not used to. Shame on you Florence Banfield. Learn to be and do better
