  I’m not one to normally do this, and it’s not about the staff, but the animals they sell. The staff is immaculate! My boyfriend and I went here back on 9/27 and purchased 2 parakeets. Within 2 weeks of owning them, I came home from work and found one at the bottom of the cage and her legs weren’t moving. I immediately called Petco with questions on what to do and spoke to a very hateful lady with customer service, whom told me to check my email (since they email everyone instructions when you buy from them). I checked my email which said to call the store… Called the store back who then told me to call the vet that they use. I did that, dropped my bird off to the vet that day. The vet called us about an hour and a half later basically saying my bird was paralyzed and the best option was to euthanize her. After that, I waited a few days then called Petco again. This time I was coming in to exchange the bird I lost for a new one. Picked my bird out and brought it home. It was fine, totally normal. 2 weeks go by, my boyfriend comes home and again finds the one we JUST got dead at the bottom of the cage.. at this point, I’m alarmed that maybe Petco has sick birds. I called Petco and they told me to bring that bird in and they will once again replace it for a new one. On 10/16, I went back to Petco and got ANOTHER parakeet, this would make the 3rd time in a month. Brought her home and this time, it was very active and not showing any signs of illness or distress. We had this one 3 weeks as of today (11/06/25) and when I woke up this morning, it was at the bottom of the cage… This is ridiculous as I have never bought from a place and lost 3 within a month. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with this store and will not be back to purchase anything else. The manager on duty was very nice and understanding of my situation and he did in fact give me a refund due to the fact, I do not trust bringing another one into my home. If I were you, I would do heavy research before purchasing a parakeet from Petco.

  This store needs new management. There is hardly anything on the shelves.

  Great selection of cat food and products. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

  They are so AMAZING 🤩. I especially love that you can walk in and get a face, paw, booty,etc. trim. I love all the groomers + staff. If I could give 💯🌟I would ❤️😎💎
