I only wanted to buy a 50 cent goldfish! He asked me what I was going to “use it for”. I politely responded I didn’t think it was any of his business. He said OK goodbye have a nice day. I said (to his back) I have a goldfish bowl. He turned and said Nope. Goodbye. He simply had no interest in helping me and returned to talking to another similarly clad employee. I then went to the other pet store in Lawrence where I was treated with respect, friendliness and professionalism. I ended up buying a more expensive fish and several accessories. I highly recommend this other store-avoid Petco where all they want to do is upsell.

However, don't buy the toys or harnesses/collars/sweaters at full price! Wait for it to be in the in-store or online clearance area/category. Their clearance stuff is usually overflowing and will save you plenty of $ for extra treats!
