Absolutely wonderful pet care! I have a larger dog that needs special handling as he is not comfortable with strangers and does not like being away from me. He's also not comfortable with other dogs and they provide him with plenty of space to safely navigate through his care. They have taken the time to let him acclimate and get to know the staff. They really take their time and do their best to make every pet comfortable and work with them on a personal level. I also have 2 cats that have had to be sedated just to receive services with other clinics. Here, they have been able to work with my cats without any problems. Unfortunately, one of my cats recently had to be euthanized, but they were so caring and careful with her during this time. Even my 6 year old son was made comfortable with how delicately his cat was being cared for and how compassionate they are to both our animals and our family.

We have been going to Banfield Clinic in Gurnee and Wonder Lake and absolutely love the care our 5 labs have received there! The staff has always been willing to answer questions and explain procedures. We have had 2 dogs euthanized due to disease at ages 12 and 13. Our pets have been spayed there and had dental cleanings. We would highly recommend either of these clinics!

Editing to add: Dr Bulger has called me not once, but twice, dishing out threats for this review I left. They refuse to answer any questions I have regarding billing because I left this review. Something is wrong here & I further caution anyone who considers entrusting these unethical providers with the care of their beloved pets.
STAY AWAY! This office is attempting to defraud my family after I left my dog in their care for a teeth cleaning & picked her up 10 mins later without having her teeth cleaned because they called me & continued to try to sell me things & give my pet a vaccine she had previously had a negative reaction to. The tech was in full agreement at the time of drop off that we need to preserve her safety & we wouldn’t want to tax her system before the procedure so we’d handle the vaccines after the fact. In addition, her lab work showed she was not ready to undergo anesthesia (supposedly) & she needed MORE services to determine if her system could handle it AND despite that, they wanted to potentially kill her by giving her a vaccine I already said no to. If her system can’t handle anesthesia, in what world is she okay to have a vaccine she reacts to on top of that?! Perplexing. I also ONLY agreed to the minimal blood work needed for the procedure (a CBC ONLY) & again, after I left the building, they continued to push me for more so my husband went to get her. 6 months later, they have sent a bill to collections (without any prior attempts to so much as contact us) for over $600. I was quoted under $600 for the entire experience, including the office visit, blood work AND the teeth cleaning. She never had her teeth cleaned & somehow we owe over $600. At her initial visit, they tried to sell me $60 ear cleaner, told me my dog who is full of hair has alopecia & that she’s overweight (she’s 8lbs & is not overweight by any sense) & wanted to sell me medication & diet food. The entire experience was a money grab & the wellbeing of my pet meant nothing. I called the office and spoke to Shana who is nothing short of disrespectful disrespectful & got an email today of them claiming services rendered that were not rendered. They are committing fraud! I wouldn’t bring my pet here for any reason whatsoever! I am in utter shock that a place charged with caring for our pets could be so absolutely disgusting. I am in contact with my attorney & will pursue this to the fullest extent. Stay far away from this place!

Worst vet ever!!!!! Their highest priority is profits. Took our dog in with a small lump in January had it needle biopsied, came back "inconclusive" they suggested we spend $1000 on a punch biopsy to get the best results, so we did. Came back negative. We begged them to remove the lump, they said if it's not cancerous or causing him pain there's no need just "watch it". 7 months later the lump grew as we told them it would and went through 2 months of scheduling BS to have them remove the lump to find out.... its cancerous!!!! They never thought to schedule a surgical consult so when surgery day arrived they shave him and put the IV in only to call us to say that "it's too big for this doctor to operate on". Brought him in for a consult next week and they ask if he ate because "the doctor thought about operating today". LIKE WHAT?!?!?! They didnt even bother to biopsy it again prior to butchering him. We arrived to pick him up and they were dragging him out of the office with his hind legs on a towel and pulling him by his front legs while he is crying. WORST VET EVER!! Scheduled a visit with a cancer specialist to go over medical records and also seeking out an attorney. Here's the kicker.... they don't even call you with the results to possibly explain them or see if you have any questions. They email you with biopsy results attached. That's how much they care.
