  Gave my appointment away to a later time slot before I showed up, and had us wait for an hour in the exam room just to find out that they “had an emergency” which is why they were so behind with our follow up exam results. Their lack of communication caused an unnecessary exhausting anxiety filled appointment experience for my dog. For as much as we pay there every month for their plan, they do a crappy job with customer service. There was plenty staff on hand regardless of an emergency or not to at least update people on waiting times.

  We had the wellness plan which was worth it, and had been going to the Elston location in Chicago for 15 years. They weren’t that great and in the end when we really needed them, they were horrible. We were able to get our 15-year-old Shih Tzu in the same day at this location in Skokie/Niles and were given excellent care by Dr. Leigh. Unfortunately, our dog took a turn for the worst that evening at home and we were seen again the next morning by Dr. Wilensky. She was beyond caring, compassionate and kind. In the end, we had to have our dog put down and Dr. Wilensky and the assistant, Perla made it much easier than this very painful experience could have been. When we get our next dog, we will definitely be driving from the city to this location for our vet needs.

  Believe the negative reviews about this place. We brought our cat in for an 11:30am slot to get an opinion on his broken nail situation. Our poor cat was stuck waiting THREE HOURS before someone came to update us on what should be done, without even looking at his nail. They jumped straight to surgery as an option. Estimate went from $150 to $350 to suddenly $750 and surgery needed. This place DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS. They are hustling for business and profit with your animals. We took our cat to another location today and simply got anti biotics prescribed and was told our cat did good biting his broken nail off. Wonder how many lawsuits this Banfield place has building up?

  I keep trying to contact them via phone and it goes to voicemail. I called Petsmart to let them know and they reported they’ve already let them know four times. Staff better.

  I’ve been to the downtown Banfield location and it’s 100% times better and more professional techs. It’s worth the drive! Twice I’ve had my dog come in for a comp examine and when I pick up the vet tech always seems to have the same sassy attitude. I know my dog and what medication he’s on. This individual is hostile and super unprofessional. I asked what the medication we were being sent home with was for and he didn’t offer any explanation just same sassiness as before. I will not be going back here!
