I wasn’t originally planning to leave a review, but after reading the notes from my visit which included inaccurate accusations I felt it was important to share what actually happened.
My partner (we are not married) and I both scheduled appointments for our dogs. From the beginning, I made it clear that we wanted everything kept separate since each dog is registered under its respective owner for documentation purposes.
We each booked online using a “First-Time Client Free Exam” offer, which clearly stated “per client.” However, when we arrived, we told them about the coupons for the pups and were told the promotion only applied “per household” and not be able to use for both only one. Although I questioned this, cause there two different owners and “clients” I still proceeded and paid for both visits on the same receipt to avoid conflict.
What raised concern was being told this policy came from staff, so I later contacted the corporate 1-888 number. I was informed that the promotion is indeed “per client,” not per household, and that what I was told in-store was incorrect. I was advised to return for a refund, and during that process, I was told that management from “ Shorewood “often instructs staff to charge per household despite corporate policy stating otherwise.
While I did receive a refund for the exam visits, I was also charged $40 for a rabies tag, which seemed unusually high compared to typical county pricing ($5–$25). This was not clearly explained at the time. Additionally, staff attempted to administer extra vaccines to one of the dogs, even after I provided documentation showing both dogs were already up to date.
Overall, I recommend being cautious and double-checking promotions and services. The information provided in-store may not always align with what is advertised, and it’s important to advocate for yourself to avoid unnecessary charges or duplicate services.
