I love my vet!! She is very, very wonderful with my dog & cat. Actually the whole staff there is great. When I’ve had an emergency, they will get us in asap. Other vets have put me out up to a week, which is why I initially changed. Anyway, they are awesome!! ❤️

I can’t express with words how truly grateful I am for Pekin Vet Clinic. We aren’t from the area but had an emergency with my little Mal-Shi. She is very inquisitive and got into something she shouldn’t. From the time I frantically called to the time I left I had an amazing experience with every staff person I encountered. I’m hopeful I will not need this kind of visit in the future, but if I do, I wouldn’t hesitate to take my little princesses to this facility. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping my little Deva and consoling me.

I've been a loyal client of them for 20 years +. I can say that Dr Jess was amazing and always took extra good care of my dogs. When I called or came in, the staff was always the same, they knew me and my dogs. The last year or so, I have noticed staff constantly changing, and the "connection" we had just vanished. They would ask me questions about my dogs that were in their files and about procedures they had done themselves. (Asking if my dog is spade, etc...) My intuition said to find another vet, and I wish I would have acted on that!
I took my 8 year old, happy, energetic, chihuahua in on April 4th, after a visit to the hospital the night before. One of her front paws was swollen, and she was limping a little. They did no testing, no xrays, no nothing really. Just told me to continue the antibiotics and prednisone she had been prescribed. Said it was probably just an infection of some kind. When she was done with her round of meds, her paw was not only swollen, but raw on the pad and bleeding. They, again, prescribed the same meds but for a longer period of time to see if that would fix it. Still, no labs, no testing. Just guess work. After a few weeks of that, it was just getting worse. So, I took her to another vet who basically just kept on with the same treatment plan. This whole time, my dog is getting worse. Then the last week of June she started breathing very rapidly and short. I took her to a totally different vet, who immediately knew she was suffering from a fungal infection. Prednisone is actually like throwing gas on fire when prescribed for fungal infections. Antibiotics don't do a thing. By the time my perfectly healthy , beautiful dog got the right treatment it was too late. She died on the morning of July 4th. I can't, for the life of me, figure out why nobody did a blood test. That's all it would have taken. A blood test. So, ya I wouldn't recommend anybody take your pets here. RIP Bella
