  We were very disappointed with our experience at this clinic. We brought our puppy in for a wellness visit using a free coupon. This is our first puppy, and we were very upfront about that.. we were hoping for guidance, reassurance, and a chance to see if this would be the right vet for us long-term. Instead, the visit immediately felt like a sales pitch. Right away, they began listing everything our puppy would “need” for the year and strongly pushing a membership plan, without taking the time to explain why certain shots, deworming, or treatments were necessary. As first-time puppy owners, we were left feeling overwhelmed rather than educated. When I mentioned that we were just doing the wellness visit for now and might consider using them later for spaying or future vet visits, the attitude noticeably changed. Most importantly, our puppy was clearly uneasy.. her tail was tucked the entire time, and she never relaxed. That alone was a red flag for us. The overall vibe just wasn’t warm or reassuring, and it didn’t feel like a place that genuinely prioritizes pets and their comfort. Unfortunately, the focus seemed more on getting memberships signed than on building trust with pet owners or caring for the animals. This was not the right fit for us. On another note the front desk lady was very sweet!

  Wish I could leave no stars. Banfield Animal Hospital in Oswego, IL demonstrated a serious breakdown in scheduling, customer service, and basic compassion. This is the second occurrence where an online appointment was confirmed yet not found in their system upon arrival. This time, I provided an email confirmation and was still turned away. This appointment was a critical follow-up from an emergency vet visit, and my pet required a medication refill. Despite this, I was told to “go back to the ER” rather than being offered any solution or assistance. The front desk staff was dismissive and unprofessional, and the manager declined to engage or resolve the issue. For a veterinary practice, the lack of urgency, empathy, and accountability is deeply concerning. This experience reflects poorly on Banfield’s standards of care and customer service. Complete lack of empathy, accountability, and customer care. As a pet owner already stressed about my animal’s wellbeing, this experience was upsetting and unacceptable. How would they feel if they were in the customer’s shoes? Pets are family, and this location demonstrated a serious lack of care and customer attention. I will not return to this location and would strongly caution other pet owners.

  Taking our puppy to Banfield has been such a great experience. Everyone is so nice. We never have to wait and they walked everything I need to know about having a new puppy.
