Despite explicitly telling them not to cut too short, they shaved my dog practically down to the skin — in winter, no less! When asked about it their reply was it will grow back and we will add it to notes for next time. SERIOUSLY, next time? We told them we are disappointed and they have made it super weird. And she cooly reply oh sorry I will hold him here until you pay and come back. On close inspection at home we noticed some areas were cut so close to the skin that you can literally see bare patches — it’s uncomfortable and unsafe for a dog in cold weather. You’d think professional groomers would have the basic sense or experience to make a judgment call or at least double-check before doing something irreversible. It’s unbelievable how badly they botched this. Pet parents, beware — avoid PETCO grooming at all costs. If you can’t get an appointment with PetSmart, you’ll honestly do a better job grooming at home yourself. Honestly, I want to put the groomer’s name here, but a basic sense of decency is holding me back — clearly something they lacked when handling my dog.
