Took a friend's a rabbit here for euthanasia while they were out of the country. I was leery about their experience with rabbits when a few years back she told me they gave her rabbit a "flea dip" for mites instead of using Revolution. The vet performed an intraperitoneal injection for euthanasia saying, "This is the way we do it here." There was no anesthesia administered before the injection into the middle of his stomach, which research tells me is standard procedure. The vet left the room and left me with him while he was bug-eyed and staring at me for 10 minutes as I tried to comfort him. She came in about 10 minutes later and said his heart was still beating. I left traumatized and bawling. I've had lots of elderly pets euthanized over the years and have never had an experience like this. I told his bun mom that he passed peacefully. He did NOT. And I cannot shake the image seared in my mind of his panic stricken eyes. The thought still makes me want to cry.

I've mostly had average experiences here, but my last visit will indeed be my last. My dog had hurt his hind limb a few weeks earlier. I wanted to get him checked out since he wasn't fully healed after a month or so. Dr. Harris was the attending vet, and it had been the first time we'd had our pet in his hands. Needless to say, his reputation precedes him as a soft tissue and joint specialist. He took one look at my dog walking in and already knew what he was ailing from, but of course - he still needed to go through the necessary diagnosis procedure. He was very rough and aggressive with our dog. I understand that it could be necessary sometimes with an uncooperative dog, but when the dog can't cooperate because they're in pain, it's common sense to be deliberate but gentle. He manhandled our dog to the point he wet himself for the first time in a decade. He stretched his legs and pinched at his torn ligament (he already knew where to squeeze) but it was to ensure he heard the dog squeal to prove to us that this was the issue. Okay, great. We got it, Doc. The problem now is that our dog has dramatically regressed since that "examination" and can't put any weight on his leg. Prior to the visit, he was able to walk and run with a slight limp. They charged us nearly $600 for the checkup, a blood test, and some glucosamine. I was used to getting bent over with the fees anyway, but the disservice and lack of empathy for our dog was unprecedented. Furthermore, he suggested an X-Ray before we take our dog to a separate clinic for a surgery. He explained the X-Ray was just in case. I'm sure it's "just in case" the $600 was just an everyday donation we can fork out on a whim. I had always questioned some of the pricing and used-car salesman tactics to con you into extra vaccines and meds, but at least the vets were compassionate and gentle. This was a wham, bam, thank you man and don't let the door hit you on your way out sort of visit, and it will be the last. I'm not one to sit here and tattle on people, but looking at my dog this evening and where he was prior to that visit is so angering that it would be negligent not to share with people that value and love their pets. I wish I could suggest another place that does better. Unfortunately, in all my experiences as a pet owner, these places all treat your pets as nothing more than a money maker with routine maintenance necessary.

I’ve taken my dog here a couple of times. A little pricy but within normal range given the area. Gorgeous facility and I truly felt like the staff cared for my pet. I would recommend.

Their team cares. They always worked around my difficult schedule to help me get in when needed, and they took good care of me and my boy. One of the hardest days of my life was made just a little bit lighter by their kindness. Major shoutout to Annette - she is a special, special person and brings the kind of light into the room that you don’t just find in people every day. Everybody here is genuine, and cares for you & your pet. My sweet Oliver’s big sister will have all of her vet needs taken care of at Morton Grove Animal Hospital in the future. Thank you guys for everything.

My 14yo yorkie comes here every few months for the last few years an allergy shot. Prices are slowly creeping up, but still fairly priced compared to other locations. He’s been recently diagnosed with a bunch of age related diseases, and his medications are all fairly priced and affordable as well. Vets and all staff are all very kind and caring. Place is kept clean.
