I rarely write reviews, but I think this one is necessary for the community to be aware of when seeking care for their pets.
My dog, who is a French Bulldog was having difficulty breathing when we woke up. He still had his usual activity level, he ate breakfast, drank water and was playing with our children, but remained short of breath. We made the decision to bring him to Urgent Care (Companion Animal Hospital) to get him checked out. When he arrived, they took him back quickly and placed him in an oxygen cage. My last interaction with my dog, was encouraging him out the door, so they could evaluate further. From my conversation with the technician and the Vet herself, it doesn't sound critical. They didn't discuss any concerns for his outcome, they verbalized they saw "early pneumonia" with his x-ray and his oxygen dropped while off the oxygen so he would need to be hospitalized for oxygen an IM antibiotics. They spoke to me many times, regarding the cost of the stay. This facility was hyper focused on payment/cost and did not provide effective communication- which I will get to.
It was agreed that he would stay for 24 hours, and we would reassess the situation the next day. My dog was left there around 12pm, they did not ask if I would like to see him before leaving, they did not express that his condition was grave or that there was even concern for it turning into a critical situation. I will never forgive myself for not asking to see him before leaving, I did not want to make his anxiety worse with seeing me again to see me leave, however, this story takes a heartbreaking turn. They told me NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS, so you don't have to call for updates. Regardless of that, I called around 3pm, for an update. The Vet told me he was improving, they got his labs back which came back without concerns. According to his records, the hospital staff observed a decline in his respiratory condition at 4:30pm. There was no phone call, no update. I received a call at 6:20pm, that my dog was "passing" and within seconds they confirmed he did pass. They did not update me in real time, in fact it took them TWO hours to notify me of his decline and called to update me that he had passed. This facility stole my dogs last moments, they never gave me the opportunity to be there when his condition took a turn, or even the knowledge that he declined.
This was a complete shock. I wish there were many things that were done differently. The facility did not properly educate me on my dogs condition, they did not notify me when there was a decline and my dog passed alone.
If you care for your pets- seek care elsewhere. And if you do end up in a situation where your pet is under their care- do not trust they will update you.

I rarely post reviews but I thought this was worth sharing for anyone who may take a pet here to be euthanized. I'll do my best to be succinct in some bullet points. Keep in mind that during this entire time at CASE I was distraught about losing my cat and I may not have been able to think the most clearly.
- When I walked in, obviously distraught with my cat, I spoke with the receptionist and told her that I was bringing my senior cat in for euthanasia. I have lost many pets throughout my life and I would never make this decision unless it was necessary for my babies. The receptionist was cold and said "that will be at the discretion of the doctor" rather than offering any sort of condolences. I understand that some people may try to abuse euthanasia, but I think it was obvious that I was not one of those people.
- I was not given a single run down of pricing before I was asked for my card and I was charged. By the time I saw the cost, I couldn't dispute it. $717 to euthanize a cat and receive her ashes is absolutely WILD considering the decline in quality of whoever they partner with.
- I don't know if there's an option for portioned cremation (which I've had done with other animals), but it was offered to me as ashes or no ashes. Again, without telling me the cost.
- Whatever company they switched to for cremations is worse quality than before. I've lost two pets and they have been at CASE when it was their time. I LOVED the urns I received as well as the little photo book with their paw print (image 1). This time around, I am honestly saddened at how cheap the paw print looks (image 2). It's a huge flat egg of clay with some black letter stickers on it for her name. At the very least they could've done both of her paws rather than leaving so much empty space.
- Along with the above comment with whatever switch they have made in the last few years. The urn choices are also not as good as they used to be. My cat and dog that passed at CASE were given back to me in beautiful urns that really are special to me. When I was given the choice of urns for Coco I felt that they were all pretty generic and sad.
- I will say that the doctor who came in and did the procedure was very respectful and kind. He did not do anything wrong.
That's everything coming to my mind right now. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed and likely will not be going out of my way anymore to visit CASE for when it's my pet's time to cross the rainbow bridge.
