I had a terrible experience at the Petco on Lawrence and Pulaski with a grooming service a while back, which is why I hadn't been back. But today I went with my dog to this location and Anna took care of us. She was not only super professional when I explained what had happened before, but she also did an excellent job. Thank you for your dedication and professionalism. If you go to the Petco on North Clyborn, don't hesitate to ask for her. 100% recommended.

Everytime I got here I have a really positive experience. The managers and workers are quick to help me out. I don’t drive or live near a Petco and this is one of my favorite locations. Especially because I can’t bring my dogs into the store since I don’t drive and they’re both medium to large size dogs.
Tonight was an AWEFUL experience. The manager SAM and the employee working with him tonight they were both so rude and you could tell they were annoyed. The employee told the lady in front of my have a good day and have a great day tomorrow. Meanwhile as I was leaving all he said was that’s a lot of returns.
I went into the store tonight to return some items and possibly exchange them. I’ve done this before with no problem (usually within the 30 days). Tonight however, I was telling the employee I think I purchased the items on the 22nd or before or after that. I didn’t say exactly the 22nd and he was going back and forth with me that he didn’t see and order for the 22nd. I repeated that it might not have been on the 22nd and he proceeded to list of the dates of my purchases. I got frustrated and said I don’t know which day, I just know it was around the 22nd - it’s whatever order has this brand.
As soon as I got to the counter I was trying to explain that I wanted to do a return and maybe an exchange. Before I could even get the words out he said let’s do the exchange first. An so I told him I didn’t even want the items anymore and he just looked at me and the items as I set them on the table. I was returning 2 Reddy Harnesses, a leash, and a collar (I bought the leash and collar to go with the matching harness). I told him the harnesses didn’t fit and they didn’t have the colors in that brand at the store and I prefer the fabric harnesses. He told me that it was after the 30 days so I could only get store credit and I told him that was perfectly fine because I visit this store often. I was also returning a snow suit because it was too large on my dog.
I hadn’t tried on the harnesses I was returning until Saturday when I was going to use them and my dog managed to escape out of the harnesses shortly after I tried it on him in the house and it was as tight as it could go. Well, there was an issue with all of the store credit loading on to the card, so the manager came over. An from the moment he came over you could tell he was irritated because he huffed and asked what I was returning then didn’t even acknowledge me.
I said I didn’t mind store credit and that I didn’t know the could do store credit. The entire time he was at the register he was huffing and had an annoyed look on his face. He then reached over clearly annoyed and tapped the screen and I apologized because I didn’t know I was suppose to tap something. Then he asked if I had the card I made the purchase with and I said Yes. I then asked if I could just do it all on store credit if it was easier since I come here frequently. He said, “no because it’s within the 30 days and I said okay no problem.” As soon as I put my card in and the return went through he handed me everything and went to walk away. I went to ask him a question and it was obvious that bothered him. I asked if the items that were on sale were final sale because I wasn’t sure if they’d fit my dogs and that they were the same brand as the harnesses I bought. I went to ask his opinion of sizing based on the harnesses not fitting and he didn’t even give me the chance. He also interrupted me saying I should just bring my dogs in to try them on. By this point I was uncomfortable and upset because they were both being rude, so I said I can’t but thank you. As I was walking out the employee made the comment that a lot of returns, which was clearly directed at me because he looks at me when he made the comment and no other person in the line was returning something aside from me.
I never make reviews. This is my first. I’m honestly upset and uncomfortable even going back to that store after my encounter with these to. Any other time i’ve gone to this location, it’s been nothing but positive.

I recently brought my dog in for grooming at Petco N. Clayton and saw that Amy was his groomer. Unfortunately, the results were extremely poor. His haircut was uneven, with rough patches left behind, and the grooming looked rushed and careless—nothing like what I had asked for.
As a Vital Care member, I feel betrayed. I paid full grooming fees plus the $29 essentials package, but the service was not worth it. Honestly, if a groomer can’t recognize that a dog is leaving looking worse than when they came in, I don’t understand why they should continue grooming.
Now it’s upsetting to pick him up in such a condition. This experience has left me very dissatisfied, and I will not be returning. I cannot recommend this Location/groomer based on grooming quality. I wished there is option to give negative rating number.
