Annual check-up. Waited an hour and 15 minutes for the vet to walk and examine my dog for less than 2 minutes. The vet was rushing and didn’t acknowledge the wait or say hello. I could sum up everything up to this point. The vet just wasn’t professional.

This is the worst Banfield I’ve ever experienced. Others are wonderful- full of people who love and care for your pet as your own. This one is full of sassy people who hang up the phone on you.
My dog has been here 3 times in the past 10 days. I have spent hundreds of dollars and have not ONCE had a doctor call me and tell me what is going on.
They didn’t call in my dogs prescription medicine to the pharmacy “because we were on hold for a really long time”. They did not think to call me and tell me that, nor did they try to call the pharmacy back and try again.
My dog NEEDS her prescription and these sassy desk girls claim it’s not their job and refuse to help.
I’ve been a Banfield customer for all of the 11 years my dog has been alive, and never once had an experience even remotely close to as awful as this. If you care about your pet, don’t bring them here.
EDIT: there was ONE very sweet employee (vet tech) who helped me and got me exactly what I needed. Ironically her colleague who said it was “impossible” stood by in silence. Thank you to the sweet girl that helped !

They WILL try to STEAL from you. We got the optimum wellness plan for our puppy which we thought was a good deal. They said vaccinations were covered by the plan but when the time came they said he can only get it the VERY LAST DAY of the plan but he will still be covered. We took him in and they said just kidding and charged us hundreds of dollars when they said it would be free.

Christina’s behavior during the interaction was unprofessional and lacked empathy. Her tone and manner were discourteous and not reflective of the level of service expected from a customer-facing representative.
I am so fed up with Banfield and their crap. Never have appointments, they have to be drop off to they can squeeze more pets in and then keep them in cages all day. They were amazing in Phoenix but just terrible here in Chicago. After 4 years cancelled my plan and will take my pets care elsewhere.
Dont sign up with them if you care for your pet.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
