I took my cat to this clinic twice last week, and unfortunately, I had an incredibly uncomfortable experience with the black receptionist that overshadowed what otherwise could have been a positive visit. The first day, the receptionist working that day was friendly and welcoming, which set a good tone. However, the second visit, I encountered one of the rudest, most unprofessional individuals I’ve ever interacted with in any service setting—a receptionist with a very cold and dismissive attitude.
After reading through other reviews, it’s clear I’m not alone in this sentiment. Having someone so unfriendly and lacking empathy as your first point of contact completely changes the entire experience. It’s a shame, especially when the rest of the staff are truly fantastic.
To start, I called before my appointment to ask a quick question. When I thanked the receptionist and said, “Have a great day,” her response was a curt, “K,” followed by her hanging up without any further acknowledgment. It was jarring and uncalled for.
When I arrived at the clinic and asked a simple clarifying question, the receptionist snapped at me, saying, “Well, once I get your name and you push the buttons, maybe I can answer something for you,” in a sarcastic and unhelpful tone.
Later, we were told our cat would be ready in about an hour, so we went to browse nearby shops to kill time. After an hour and a half, we returned and checked in to see if we had enough time to run home or if our cat was almost done. The same receptionist rudely tells us “Well, since you decided to come back already, I guess I can rush them along to get your animal to you.” We tried to explain that there was no rush—we just wanted to know if we had more time—but she wouldn’t hear it.
It’s especially concerning when someone in a customer-facing role lacks the patience and empathy required to deal with emotional situations. Many pet owners, like myself, are stressed when bringing in a sick or anxious pet, and a little kindness and understanding can make all the difference. Instead, this receptionist made an already difficult situation even more uncomfortable.
On top of that, while I was waiting, I noticed that the receptionist was laughing and joking around loudly on the phone while the sign was on for a family in the process of saying goodbye to their pet. That kind of behavior in such a sensitive moment was in poor taste.
That said, the rest of the staff—especially the vet and techs—were absolutely wonderful. The vet was incredibly patient, thorough, and empathetic. She took the time to answer all of our questions and made us feel like our cat was in excellent hands. The vet techs were also sweet, kind, and professional, always taking the time to explain things clearly and make us feel at ease.
I really hope the clinic addresses the behavior of this receptionist, whether it be through additional training or perhaps a change in personnel. It’s unfortunate that such a small part of the experience left such a negative impression, especially when the rest of the staff were so exceptional. I would have rated 5 stars if not for the receptionist. I wanted to rate 2, but I feel the rest of the staff do not deserve that. This woman is really bringing down the face of the business.

I have taken my dog here for years, 15 in a half years to be exact. On Tuesday, my family had to make the hard choice of putting him to sleep so he can rest peacefully. Although it was the hardest decisions we had to make, the staff that helped us that day were some of the sweetest, most patient and understanding ladies I have ever encountered. From the front desk receptionist in the morning checking us in with ease and insuring us he will be seen as soon as possible. The VT nurse who sat with us and explained everything in great detail to the veterinarian who stood by our side through all the tears; providing us comfort. This team was amazing! I know this has to be the hardest part of their jobs but they helped me and my father walk away knowing this was the best decision and that we left him with the most sweetest and gentle souls. I am sorry I do not know everyone's name by heart but thank you so much ladies so much.
