Pretty awful to go very excited with my child and be completely ignored for over 40minutes. We were going to buy fish and plants and everything to start our own little aquarium at home and they completely ignored us. I asked for help and the lady said she would go get someone, that someone came and kept pretending he was too busy to help us and proceeded to help others who came after us. Not sure if it was a racist thing or what. I went up to the lady again and she straight up turned around and walked away from me almost ran away. I will never come here again. We went to PetSmart instead and they helped us there right away. Besides, lots of their fish are dead and just floating there and they aren’t cleaning them up. Not worth wasting my time there nor money.

Had a online grooming appointment scheduled. I was dropping off my dog and they asked me to sign a form disclosing the grooming charge. The employee flipped the sheet over to the 2nd page which did not show the charge. When I turned it over and asked why it was $20 higher than what was quoted online.
The employee said that is corporate and they don't know the correct charges. I asked her to honor the online quoted and she said they can't do that. I said, cancel my appointment and left.

It's sad to say, but this store has actually become just a dog grooming place, even smells like someone's neglected doggy back yard. If you have interest in anything else, there are things to buy but nothing you need. There is no effort put into other areas. The worst part is how dirty and uncared for it is. Don't buy aquarium plants you WILL get pest snails and black beard algae. Don't EVER buy fish and immediately put them in your regular tank UNLESS you want to kill your whole tank or spend months clearing up a disease. Buy fish with the expectation that at least 3 of the 5 will die within 3 days. It will be blamed on your tank parameters, so don't bother trying to return regardless of the policy. Buy more than you want and isolate for at least 14 days. Do not EVER try to interact with the manager on a problem or return. Customer service is NOT her forte.

It's refreshing to have a big box store that actually cares about the fish they sell and seem to be meticulous on disease management. I'll see the "fish under observation" signs, but don't see any visibly sick fish. That is a GREAT sign! I also love that they care about the ethics of said fish, making sure you are not going to just take them home and kill them. Also, I love the fact that they carry live plants! It feels really weird to me to have some level of trust in a big box store. It must be this particular petco (and definitely their staff/management) because I've had way too many terrible experiences in the past with others.
