- LCLincoln CurtisDec 6, 20251.0I went in for some food for my goldfish today. I always like to look at the fish before I leave, specifically the bettas. If none of you don’t know, they keep their betta fish in a small plastic cup about the size of a small Tupperware container. Today they had lots of betta fish in stock. I did not see one that looked in good condition. Two were dead. It’s disgusting how the fish get treated there. And I bet the other animals get treated poorly too. It’s also a shame because when you buy a fish in need of a home, they replace it with a new one that goes through the same process eventually leading them to be sick due to sitting in a small plastic container for awhile (with no plants, just water). This isn’t just this location. I’ve seen many videos online where people show sick or dead fish at other Petco’s. The snails get a better life and tank than the bettas. Stop the animal abuse.

However...the person who checked me out was, i think a guy, and pretty creepy...face FULL of pointy piercings, never looked at me just kind of stared off into space and asked if my phone # was in their system, i said no..yet he didn't ask if i wanted to join. Didn't say thank you, goodbye or kiss my grits. It was uncomfortable. If you need an item, i hope you get a different cashier. 😆 Almost forgot to say the store was messy, looked like a big crowd came through and picked things up then dropped them on the ground lol. I worked retail for awhile, those things should be picked up and put away pretty fast-there was ONE other family in the store looking at fish...doubt it was them wreaking havoc🙃
