  Elijah is awesome! I travel for work and am big on aquariums. I like to stop by petco on my lunch break when out of town to browse the fish selection. I've been to a huge number of Petcos in Iowa and am blown out of the water (no pun intended) by this store. You can tell the employees truly want the best for the animals and I'm not sure what more you could ask for as a pet store. Keep up the great work!

  The staff is friendly, very helpful and they go above and beyond. I look forward to shopping here and everyone is so nice and very knowledgeable. It’s a great customer service experience every time.

  Everything is pretty expensive . Be sure to research online before purchasing you can usually find it 2x cheaper somewhere else

  This store definitely changed my mind about buying from them, I walked in one day and they had a purple tang (saltwater fish) for sale in a tank by itself. I found a worker and said I want to buy the purple tang another worker heard me and said he thought he saw ick on it and they came and check it and it definitely did have white spots so they put some treatment in the tank and took my number down to call me as soon as it was better. I went in a few days later and the tang wasn’t in the tank he was in to begin with so I started looking and found that they had put him in a tank full of clown fish while he was still infected with ick. So I got a worker and asked why he was moved if he was ready for me to take it home. The worker told me he had no idea why it got moved but it should be in a quarantine. He didn’t move the tang to a quarantine tank and just left him in the tank and told me he would put him in a tank by himself and I could come check on him 4 times a day. Lo and behold 2 days later I go in to check on him and he’s gone. No he didn’t die they sold him out from under me and sold him while he was sick. Not only did they sell him while having ick but they contaminated every tank in the store on the saltwater wall because it’s all connected to the same filter system. This is not how you should do business at all.

  A few days ago I had an exceptionally positive experience at this Petco. I stop in several times a year, mostly to check out the aquariums. The lady who is usually there ( I will keep her privacy), is always polite and knowledgeable. This particular day, she expertly caught 3 of the exact fish that I was looking at, and then she spotted a fourth fish with an interesting color pattern. And she said, "You want this one.", and who am I to argue, because she was absolutely right. I went to the front of the store to check out. The young lady at the register was helping an older gentleman with either removing or attaching a pet tag to a collar. The gentleman was so happy that she was helping him do this. He complimented her. She said "I like to provide excellent customer service!", as friendly as can be. Her cheerful attitude continued and I walked out, feeling like I had a momentary brush with authentic human kindness. How often do you get that these days?
