After an emergency vet visit for my pup, she still didn't seem to be getting better and Creature Comforts (who is my regular vet) was willing to take her in on short notice, even though they were already booked for the day. They kept her for the afternoon to give her supportive care and monitor her condition. During this time they were able to figure out the problem and take her into surgery that same day. They've been so kind and have communicated well through this whole process. Thank you for taking such good care of my baby!

My cat unfortunately passed but I just wanted to leave a review for the vet here for being incredibly empathetic not only to my cat but to myself in this difficult situation. The vet heard everything I said and was so incredibly kind, it was a very hard time losing my cat but I’m glad this is where we went to. My cat always hated vets to the point she had to be sedated to be seen but to this vet here she was affectionate so maybe she knew her time was short. I’m devastated my cat’s gone but I just wanted to thank this Vet and clinic for being empathetic to the whole situation.

I felt dismissed with my concerns about my elderly cat. I chose Creature Comforts because my cat was in mild respiratory distress and CC was the only place I was able to get into on an urgent basis. I was essentially told he was probably dying from heart failure and there was nothing to be done and to just take him home and let him be. I was told diagnostic testing was a possibility but "results probably wouldn't be good and you won't like the answers". I proceeded with diagnostic testing anways and found out he had asthma and could be helped with steroids. I would never have forgiven myself if I had decided not to do the testing based on an opinion from someone who seemed like they didnt want to take care of an elderly patient. He was also only given a low dose of steroids once a day and was not improving. I went to my regular vet and she gave him a Dexamthazone injection and doubled the steroid. The low dose he was put on by Dr. Harriott would not help him get past this asthma exacerbation. She also gave me directions and suggestions on how to help his asthma at home, which was NOT done by Dr. Herriott. I am very sad to say it seems like no empathy or understanding was provided, and very little compassion shown for an elderly cat. They seem to be in it for the money instead of providing quality care. I am also basing this opinion on experiences other people I know personally have had with this practice, who experienced similar interactions.

We've taken our cats here for the last 8 years. Their hours make accessing care easy. They've always treated us and our pets with respect, I've always felt like they actually care. We live half an hour from Ankeny but they are definitely worth the drive.
