While teaching a guide task on wednesday december 3rd 2025 i noticed these service dog patches. petco shouldnt sell these unless the person actually has a legit service dog and is disbaled, this makes it hard for me and other people to live there life, for example by doing this ur putting me and my dog at risk and in some cases citizens. barely any fakes have training at all. so they could most definitely contaminate the area by touching it, riding in carts etc, even if a person has a fear and a dog is running around with no proper training and not legally allowed to be in, some people have horrible fears of dogs, you may ask how come i get to do it, its because im disabled and its not fun so i need this dog that was specifically bred for this work to navigate me through daily life, service dogs are cute or funny, it means this persons life isnt really sunshine and rainbows, were severly disabled not a petting zoo for ur children or entertainment. hundreds of people have been attacked and even dogs lost their careers and some even lifes. Serivice dogs cost around 10-100k owner trained or not. faking service dogs arent okay and its a third degree felony. id you want to bring ur pet somewhere go to living foods or petco, no, home depot isnt pet friendly anymore.
