The people here are super nice, and the customers AND employees have a lot of respect for the animals' space and request consent before petting, treats, etc. I also thought it was cute that Petco on Instagram responded to my story, that I posted on my dog's account (I tagged the account) when I posted a photo of my dog taking a nap and his toys.
