Petco at Ewa Beach turned me away after driving nearly an hour on Christmas Eve from Kailua to Ewa to get my dogs a bath. They were SCHEDULED for an appointment at 9 AM, which I was on time for, but I was not even helped until 915. After the intake period was over, the groomer said she will take one dog, but not the other because the dog is prescribed Dasuquin and has the beginning stages of arthritis. The dog is 9 years old and she’s a German shepherd. They could have concluded that she’d be on joint supplements. And I’ve never heard of any grooming facility not accepting a dog for the use of dasuquin. NOT ONLY THAT, but they have gotten a bath every month at the Petco in Kaneohe since we moved here in March!!! In fact, we’re on our way there right now after calling them to find that they have space on their schedule to see them. Weird right?? I pleaded with the manager to review the dogs medical records because there is no documentation of arthritis in there. I only disclosed that Rory has the beginning stages of Arthritis so they’re gentle with her during her nail trim. Sounds to me they just over loaded their schedule and needed to remove some clients. What a waste of my time on one of the busiest days of the year. I just lost 2 hours of my day because of this.
