I have only ever used Severn Edge so cannot comment on the prices. However you cannot put a price on kindness and professionalism. I have used them frequently (my dogs are knobs) for over 16 years and have never been disappointed by their treatment from first vaccination to end of life care. It's so easy to get an appointment using their online system, receptionists are friendly, vetinary nurses are knowledgeable and the vetinary surgeons are professional and empathetic to owner and patient.

I want to make it clear that this review is not aimed at the staff, who were kind and professional during an incredibly upsetting time. My concern is with the company itself.
I brought my dog in when he was extremely unwell. He had gone off his back legs, had lost a significant amount of weight and was clearly suffering. Sadly, he had to be put to sleep, which was absolutely heartbreaking for us.
What made the situation even harder was being charged £188.10 (for a dog that weighed next to nothing). My partner took his bulldog (Weighing 30kg) to another veterinary practice and the cost was just over £100 + VAT. The difference in price is quite shocking.
When people come to a vet, it’s because they’re worried about an animal they love. At times like that, compassion should come first. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling like animals are becoming more of a number than anything else, which is incredibly sad.

After my recent encounter, I will not be bringing my dog back again as I’ve completely lost trust in this place.
Recently came down with someone I work with as we found a stray kitten. The receptionists were friendly but when we went into the vets, with no real tests she told us the kitten needed to be put down. Rolling off an absolute load of rubbish, that both myself and work colleague could see. There was no compassion whatsoever. Just that she was 99.9% sure that this kitten needed to be put down or it would be dead within the week. Luckily my work colleague decided to go against what she said and take the cat to another vet. He was charged £49 fee (for a stray). The vets the kitten is in now have not mentioned anything of the sort, he’s doing well and they are keeping him under observation for the week, without charging as he’s a stray! The poor thing could have been put down by now for no reason what so ever. I will be going down a formal complaints route and not going back here again
