- MMMadeline McKennaJan 30, 20261.0After our dog passed away, we received automated emails from the surgery reminding us to bring her in for a six-monthly health check. I contacted them about this and chose to look past the mistake. However, when we went to collect her ashes, the receptionist decided that was the appropriate moment to tell my partner that we supposedly owed a couple of hundred pounds. We do not, everything had already been paid in full / through insurance. They couldn’t tell my partner exactly what the bill was for when he asked either. Even if there had been an outstanding balance, raising it while we were collecting our dog’s ashes was deeply insensitive and completely inappropriate. This experience lacked basic compassion, and the staff would benefit from additional training around empathy and timing.
