I had a very disappointing experience at this store. I initially asked a staff member (lady) for help purchasing a guinea pig. Although she began watching us, her attitude was unfriendly from the beginning. She asked for photos of our existing cage, which I didn’t have at the time, so I decided to purchase another cage in-store, assuming her concern was for the animal’s well-being.
We had already visited the day before but had to leave because the store was about to close, so I was trying to avoid the same situation again. The staff member placed the cage near the cashier and then left to assist another customer, leaving me waiting with four children, including a baby and a 3-year-old, for over 20 minutes.
With closing time approaching more than 30 minutes for closing , I asked another staff member for help. The cashier contacted the original employee, who said she was busy with someone else. This was confusing, as she had been watching me and left without explanation. Another employee was called over, but he was also quite rude and said they were short-staffed and might not have time to help us.
When the original lady finally returned, her attitude was even worse—she was rude, sarcastic, and behaved in a way that felt discriminatory. The only positive part of the experience was the cashier, who remained polite and professional throughout.
Overall, the customer service was unacceptable, and the experience was very frustrating.

An interesting experience today! I had previously been to my local branch Ipswich and the very helpful chap there rang Martlesham to see if they had the stock I required. They did, I asked for 2 boxes to be put to one side. Upon arriving at Martlesham I was severely chastised by the young girl (new member of staff) for asking for the items to be reserved. Apparently, I should have CLICKED AND COLLECTED.... and the staff member at Ipswich " should have known better"
The young lady had been told off, so she wanted to tell ME off , and asked who it was at Ipswich so they could be duly TOLD OFF!
I was VERY put out at this, as it really was not MY fault. Both staff members had been being very helpful, compassionate human beings. I commend them for that.
Corporate rules don't allow for the human experience.
