On 13 May 2026, I attended an appointment for my dog’s skin condition. Following the consultation, I was advised that the total cost of treatment would be £288.89.
At reception, I informed staff that I had pet insurance. I was asked to provide my insurance provider details and policy number, which I did. I was then informed that I only needed to pay the £90 excess, which I paid immediately. The receptionist clearly stated that no further action was required from me and that, if there were any issues with the insurance claim or if it was rejected, the practice would contact me within five days.
I received no communication from the practice regarding any problems with the claim. As a result, I reasonably believed that the insurance process had been completed successfully.
However, on 8 June 2026 at 6:06 a.m., I received an email stating that I owed an outstanding balance of £198.89. Concerned by this, I contacted the practice at 9:03 a.m. to understand why I had received this demand for payment.
During the call, I was informed that the practice had allegedly attempted to contact me on multiple occasions to advise that I needed to complete additional paperwork. This is incorrect. I did not receive any phone calls, emails, text messages, or voicemails regarding this matter.
The only contact I received from the practice was on 1 June 2026 regarding my dog’s test results. During my call on 8 June, I was told there was a different telephone number recorded on my file. This explanation raises further concerns, as the practice was clearly able to contact me regarding my dog’s test results on 1 June. If my contact details were incorrect, I do not understand how communication was successful on that occasion but not regarding the insurance claim.
I would also like to highlight a further communication failure. On 1 June 2026, Bruna Kremer attempted to contact me by telephone. Unfortunately, I missed this call due to being at work. Upon receiving the email containing my dog’s test results, I telephoned the practice the following day at approximately 5:12 p.m. and requested to speak with Bruna Kremer. I was advised by the receptionist that she would arrange for Bruna Kremer to contact me the following day.
No call was received. I did not receive any further communication by telephone, email, or text message regarding my dog’s care or the insurance claim.
I am extremely disappointed by the lack of communication and the way this matter has been handled. I have been a client of Springfield Veterinary Group since 2020 and previously attended the White Lane branch, where I never experienced any issues of this nature.
The failures in communication from the Wickersley branch have caused me significant and unnecessary stress. I am currently six months pregnant, and receiving an unexpected demand for nearly £200, after being assured that no further action was required from me, has caused considerable anxiety and upset.
I would give zero stars if I could. The experience at this branch has been extremely disappointing, and as a result, my dog and I will be moving to a different veterinary practice. I can no longer recommend this branch based on the service we received.

I have now had multiple vet visits for my 2 lurchers Toast&Jam for neutering, an injury, an illness and anxiety. Each and every time all the staff were helpful, friendly and kind. One of my dogs is reactive and they were all really understanding and helpful making him feel comfortable and allowing us to wait outside. I heard about Springfield being expensive and pushy to spend more money but on every occasion, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Yes veterinary care can be expensive but that’s the cost of an animal. Each vet visit, they helped to ensure costs were kept as low as possible, we have been offered extras such as blood tests if they would be helpful but with absolutely no pushiness and no expectation. I really couldn’t be happier with the care received every time. Thankyou for your wonderful staff. :)

Bruna Kremer has done wonders with our dog's skin irritation. She is off the Apoquel and Citapoint treatment. Back to her normal self and no scratching or itching. I would recommend.

Best Vets in Rotherham. My 2 cats Poppy & Garfield are looked
looked after by Springfield Wickersley and even though they both probably dislike their visits to the vets 🤣, I find Springfield the most caring vets for my 2 little buddies.
Thank you so much 🐾
