Your colleague, Steven, was absolutely lovely. We had come in previously and notice a little girl bearded dragon, and absolutely fell in love with her. We originally spoke to Steven about rats (as we are currently temporarily looking after some) and he was great help about rats and moved swiftly onto bearded dragons. We said that we were coming back in a few weeks time as said if she was still there we would take her. Well lo and behold a few weeks went past and she was still there. Steven remembered us and served us again and was absolutely brilliant and knew what he was talking about, same as the lady who was with us (i forgot to take her name). Steven gave us a lot of advice and information. He is definitely a valuable asset for pets at home!.

Unfortunately after coming here all the time for my two animals, with mostly fine to great experiences, I won’t be returning. I was purchasing some digestion aid, with this they come in cards or a tester package, which you show to the desk and they proceed to get these from the back, I gave my card to the girl on the desk I believe named “bryony” which she proceeded to look at it with quite the face, she clearly had no idea what it was, she proceeded to then show it to the women next to her making her go and get it, by the way the line was very long being a midday on Sunday. The item was not in stock and all I got back from Bryony is “we haven’t got any” i was in shock no “sorry about that” no “was there any alternative you would like” just stood there and looked at me like I was a ghost. I in turn had to go back and pick up an alternative, I had said “its probably best to remove the cards, while you don’t have the items in stock to not waste any more time” she said nothing. She didn’t even ask me for my Pets at home card, which I thought was mandatory. She proceeded to be very rude with her mannerisms, becoming hostile towards me. I said nothing further, so clearly she got offended very quickly to a very reasonable comment.
I’ve worked in many customer service jobs, where times I’ve been in the same position as Bryony was in, but have proceeded with “I’m so sorry about that, but the item isn’t in stock, would you like to get an alternative” due to the nature of the product.
Clearly new, clearly needs some sort of customer training in these situations, and possible training for these in store situations. I have purchased these types of items numerous times here and other stores and never has this happened to me. Im very disappointed with the interaction. I hope it doesn’t happen to any further customers.
