I was left feeling like a significant inconvenience during my visit today. As I was completing a purchase close to closing time, I was asked if I had a loyalty card. I didn’t have it with me, but I provided two postcodes linked to my account—both of which I know are correct.
The woman serving could not find my details, despite providing two postcodes and house numbers. Unfortunately, there was little effort made to assist in resolving the issue. It felt as though the priority was to close the shop rather than help a long-standing customer. While I completely understand the desire to finish up at closing time, a basic level of customer service should still be maintained—especially for returning customers. I explained that I only ever buy my pet food from here, but this was dismissed.
As a result, I was unable to benefit from the loyalty discount and had to pay full price. Out of curiosity when I got back to my car, I checked the app on my wife's phone, and both postcodes and house numbers I provided were indeed linked to my account, confirming the information I gave was accurate.
The issue here isn’t the small amount of money involved that I could have saved..... but rather the lack of willingness to assist and the way the situation was handled. It left a disappointing impression after years of being a loyal customer.
I'm pretty sure the woman behind the counter had the administration within her to warrant the loyality prices, but instead just stood there unwilling to help. The staff around her also looking dazed....... they simply wanted to close up, and me being there was clearly an inconviniece.
It goes without saying, I won't be coming back here. I'll use Pets Pantry or Jollyes in future
