I found this injured hoglet last night (I called him Henry) and took him to PetMedics. I was very worried about him and called them. They explained they’d be happy to take him in and look after him overnight and I’d need to complete a form on arrival. On arrival, the staff were lovely and seemed happy to meet him. They explained that they work closely with two local wildlife rescue charities, and after looking after him overnight, they’d arrange transfer to their care. Fingers crossed he made it through the night. I slept well knowing he’d be looked after as the staff genuinely seemed to care about him. Thanks for your compassionate care for the local wildlife.

Our cat quickly became unwell recently and we were redirected to petmedics for out of hours emergency care. The staff were all absolutely fantastic and caring, unfortunately we lost our cat that evening but the care and compassion the staff at pedmedics gave us and our pet is so greatly appreciated

Not one to normally leave poor reviews but I’m perplexed right now. I’ve heard mixed reviews about Pet Medics but haven’t experienced their service before until the last week. With the aim of doing a good deed and helping an animal in need over the weekend, I picked up a cat suspected to be a stray. She was visibly malnourished, thought to be a kitten due to her size and in need of help. I called this place and asked them if they could check for a chip and help her, to which they agreed. When I entered, I was asked to fill in a form and surrender her to them - they said they would keep her for 7 days incase anyone came forward for her, and after that she would be sent to a local rescue to be rehomed. They asked me to wait so they could verify my details and then took the cat in the back to be checked over. 2 minutes later, the receptionist returned to tell me the vet had said the cat “had missed a few meals and wasn’t a good hunter” and that we should put her back where we found her, because cats are free roaming animals, otherwise we could consider keeping her.
Fast forward to the next working day, I took her to my own local vets. She weighed 1.8kg, was actually clearly a senior cat based on her teeth. Blood tests then showed severe anaemia, Heinz bodies (suspected toxic poisoning), kidney malfunction, low red blood cells, amongst other things - including suspected cancer. We are now adopting the cat to ensure she has the best chance or at least an ending full of love.
Pet Medics would have put this cat back on the street during a heatwave. Shocking. Where do you go to save an animal if it’s not to an emergency vet?

I want to express my sincere thanks to the vet who looked after Eric (8227409).
Eric is an elderly cat who was abandoned by my former neighbor. While I am not his official owner, I treat him as a friend; I feed him and bring him inside during bad weather. When his back legs started failing, the vet was incredibly professional, thoroughly explained the situation, and we agreed on a pain-relief plan to keep him comfortable.
Unfortunately, the administrative process for his repeat medication has been incredibly confusing and frustrating. Last Friday morning, I ordered his pain killers via Animed and called the reception to provide Eric’s details and the order number. I was assured the prescription would be sent that day.
By Monday, Animed emailed stating they hadn't received it. I called the clinic again at 12:39 PM and was promised a follow-up. At 5:31 PM, a vet called to say it was approved. However, by Tuesday afternoon, Animed still had nothing. I then received another call from reception asking me to come in and buy the medicine physically, despite having already explained it was an online order.
Eric is nearing the end of his life, and my only goal is to keep him comfortable in his remaining time. The veterinary care here is wonderful, but I truly hope the clinic can streamline and improve their prescription management process to avoid this kind of distress for caregivers.
