Went in to speak to somebody about switching my 8 year old chihuahua to a healthier dog food. Julie helped me and was honestly fantastic. She talked me through so many options and what was best for my dog. Lovely lady hope she is there next time I pop in.

I am very disappointed with the grooming service at Pets at Home. This was the worst experience I have ever had, and I am extremely upset about how my dog, Niyra, was treated.
On Tuesday, I visited the store to book a grooming appointment for Niyra, and the appointment was confirmed for Saturday at 4:30 PM. I received a confirmation message from Pets at Home showing the appointment time. However, while we were on our way, I received a call at 4:10 PM saying that we were 10 minutes late. I explained that my appointment was booked for 4:30 PM, and after arriving, I even showed the confirmation message as proof.
Instead of understanding the situation, the groomer spoke to me very rudely and said she could not complete the haircut I requested within 1.5 hours and asked me to change the appointment to 30th July. This was not possible because my partner had already taken time off work for this appointment.
We finally asked her to do whatever she could, but the result was extremely upsetting. Niyra had very long hair, and a huge amount was cut off, leaving her with very little hair. Her face cut was very uneven, her legs were not properly groomed, and her nails were not trimmed *The most concerning part is that her leg was injured during the grooming and she was bleeding*
The groomer’s response was that my dog was “not cooperating”. This was very disappointing because Niyra has had grooming before and previous staff have always told me she is a very good and calm dog. Any dog would react if they were hurt.
This whole situation was caused by the appointment time confusion from the store, not by us. I am extremely unhappy that my dog’s appearance and comfort were affected because of this experience.
I hope Pets at Home takes this seriously, investigates what happened, and improves the level of care and communication provided to customers and their pets.
