The car park is currently a building site. There were no vacant spaces in the available area, so I had to turn around and return home empty handed.

I live locally to this pet shop and have visited several times over the years. I first came into contact with them when my son accidentally broke my previous fish tank and it started leaking. I rushed to the shop and purchased a new 64-litre tank, which I have now had for around three years.
The tank has been excellent and looks great. It keeps my goldfish happy and healthy, and the filter has worked very well throughout this time.
I regularly visit the shop to buy fish food, water treatment chemicals and other supplies. The staff are always friendly, helpful and welcoming. Even the security guard is very friendly and polite.
I have had a very positive experience with this pet shop and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good local pet shop

We’ve been coming here with our dog for years and have always had a wonderful experience. The shop staff are genuinely lovely, helpful and always happy to offer advice. The grooming ladies are particularly special, welcoming and always smiling, and we’ve never had an issue with the vets either. A truly wonderful team!

Absolutely appalling service from Pets at Home Old Kent Road.
My dogs eat raw food, so I went into the store on Sunday looking for duck wings, duck necks and other basic raw food items. They didn’t have what I needed, so I asked when the delivery was due. I was told Monday.
I went back Monday — still nothing. I was then told to come back Tuesday. Tuesday came — still nothing. I was told Wednesday. Rather than waste yet another journey today, I called the store, only to be told, yet again, to try Thursday.
This is beyond frustrating. How can customers possibly rely on Pets at Home when you can’t even keep basic raw food products in stock, and nobody seems to know when deliveries are actually arriving?
What makes it worse is the constant misinformation. Every day it’s a different answer. I’ve wasted my time making unnecessary trips because I was given information that clearly wasn’t accurate.
If you can’t guarantee stock, fine — but don’t keep giving customers false expectations and sending them back to the store day after day. A simple “we don’t know when it’s coming” would have been more honest.
For a company of this size, this level of organisation and communication is completely unacceptable. I expected far better and will seriously think twice about relying on this store again.

The expert that came to speak to us about the fish was more concerned with selling us a big tank rather than sharing knowledge about the type of fish we should be getting and info on balancing the tank.
We took 3 fish from this store who died within 48 hours then another 3 and they died within one week. All lethargic, all not swimming and just sitting at the bottom of the tank. This shop sells sick fish. Beware.
We went to Supreme Animal Foods pet, reptile and aquatic store in Lewisham who tested our water, shared knowledge and advised us well. We took 3 fish from here and they are amazing.
