New- So i have changed this from a 1 star to a 5 star and i will tell you why, up until the below review i have never had an issue with this store, i have a professional and a personal relationship with the store as a pet owner and a pet professional. I have since spoken to a manager and been assured that the below statement made by the male member of staff is NOT the stance of Pets At Home and the amount charged for the rabbit is infact going to Pets At Homes rehoming charity which is fine, i donate to that frequently anyway. I have been back an bought the rabbit as no surprise no one had bought the sweet thing, no surprise if that member of staff was insulting people with those kinds of statements. And for the record to that male member of staff who insinuated that the price is high to make sure people can afford to own the rabbit i have already microchiped the rabbit myself, insured him and signed him up to my vets monthly vet club which all cost more than his price. Also bought his food, hay, straw, cage base etc, it all adds up, £55 is barely an example of qhether or not someone can afford an animal. Fortunately the managers are going to speak to him about his insulting statement
Old- Well i never thought this store would be one of the ones to fall into the whole profiteering group of the pet trade but here we are...
A man at the till just stood there with a straight face and told me an animal that has been handed to them for free is being resold with an adoption fee of £55 to make sure whoever buys it has enough money to own it... they dont even sell new rabbits for that much... and lets just be logical shall we? Surely that money wpuld be better spent on THE RABBIT!!! But at least the woman at the till did actually say that a nuetering and vaccination vouchers was included. But it isnt microchipped? Right... half a job anyone? The only real and logical reason for such a high price is to recoup money lost whilst having the rabbit in store.
The best part is, i was ready to buy the rabbit, until that comment! To make sure people can afford to own it! Disgusting and vile thing to say, especially to a customer
