Awful vets! Stay well clear unless you would like your pet to be pts. They tried to get me to put my cat down, then didn’t treat him properly !! If it wasn’t for PDSA my cat probably wouldn’t be here today!!
Staff do not care about animals at all , only care about money and tearing animals who’s owners have a lot of money to spend

My 5-month-old GSD developed a limp after jumping down the stairs, so I took him to this vet. After an assessment, I was told he had elbow dysplasia in both elbows. I was surprised by this as he would only hold up his right paw when sitting and would limp on the right leg when walking. I was told i would need a £1.5k CT scan followed by a £4k operation — no mention of anything more minor like a sprain until I pushed back. It didn't sit right with me, so I declined and got a second opinion instead. I told the new vet about the elbow dysplasia diagnosis and the new vet said it looked like "he'd just bashed himself", and identified the pain as coming from the bone above the elbow, not the joint itself — likely growing pains aggravated by the fall. He advised waiting a week, then an X-ray if the limp continued. It did, and the X-ray, at half the price of a ct scan, confirmed panosteitis (growing pains) with no sign of elbow dysplasia at all. Elbow dysplasia is common in GSDs however so is panosteitis and their assesment was the day after he had jumped down the stairs so I'm disappointed that they jumped directly to the nightmare scenario rather then take a more measured approach, particularly i am disappointed they didn't even mention the possibility of a lesser injury until i pushed back, which is a shame as ive had good care for my cat here in the past.

Reception: Very rude and unhelpful. Her attitude towards customers was dismissive and unprofessional, making for an unpleasant experience. People expect to be treated with courtesy and respect, and unfortunately that was not the case. If customer facing work is not something she enjoys, the role would be better filled by someone who values good customer service.

Avoid this vets by all means necessary. These vets wrongly diagnosed my cat and charged me £755 for an xray that wasnt needed. They didn't even bother to try and diagnose my cat correctly. Needless to say the xray wasn't needed and I had to pay further for the correct course of treatment. Blatantly fraudulent, charging you for unneeded treatments at top price. No problems with this vet practice before they were taken over by CVS!

Sadly had to take our lovely elderly dog to the practice on Saturday. Unfortunately after much discussion he had to be put to sleep.
The vet who dealt with us, Gabrielle I think her name was was absolutely brilliant. She did a thorough job examining him and was very respectful as he was very stressed and in pain. She explained everything well, didn't rush us gave us as much time as we wanted to say goodbye to him. We were able to stay with him throughout the process which she carried out with the up most respect for him and us.
Although we are obviously heartbroken, the treatment we received Saturday made everything easier and calmer.
We have been with Harbour vets normally using the Southsea branch for many years and the service we have always received has been excellent. We will certainly choose them again later down the line. Thank you all so much.
