Over the years, I have mainly attended the Havant branch but recently also Southsea and Anchorage Park. The staff in all 3 branches have been kind and caring. I must give a shout out to the receptionists who have always been so patient under what must be trying circumstances, especially when many of us owners arrive upset and anxious.
Over a month ago, my 12 year old dog became poorly, resulting in an admission to the Anchorage Park hospital where they discovered he had a very large liver mass. He was too poorly to return home to die. The vet, Sylvie, was so compassionate and gentle with him. Ellie, the veterinary nurse, known to me from the Havant practice, was present at the hospital, knowing he had been admitted. Her presence offered a personal touch, including much emotional support when the time came for Arnie to be put to sleep. No one rushed us. We had a private room which housed the 5 of us comfortably. We were not disturbed and were told to take as much time as we needed. My dog was kept comfortable, and treated like he was the first dog ever to be put to sleep at the practice when in reality, we know the staff teams in all 3 branches are dealing with this everyday. Ellie went to great lengths to take ink prints of his nose and paws, cut some of his fur, and get it to us later that day so we had something physical of him, knowing we were returning without him. Both practices sent me beautiful signed cards to acknowledge our loss.
Since my dog passed away, I spoke with friends who shared that their experience in this situation with other vet practices was nothing like ours. Therefore, I wanted to post this to let other dog and pet owners know of the positive experience I had in such difficult circumstances. The emotional support, patience and kindness made these final steps slightly more tolerable, and are important in moving through grief. I would certainly recommend Harbour Vets and the current staff team. Thank you to everyone.

I visited with my two cats for health checks and vaccinations. Both the staff member on the front desk and the vet were both friendly, helpful, informative and also very caring towards my cats.
The practice is clean, efficiently run and my cats always receive a high level of care and medical attention I always feel extremely confident leaving my pets in their care
On my last visit due to a health issue I was struggling lifting my cats pet carriers and so the vet I saw refused to allow me to do it he even helped to carry them out to my car at the end of our appointment which I felt was really going above and beyond what is expected and was extremely kind and helpful. Overall I can't fault them they not only have a high standard of care for the animals but also care for their owners too. 🐾🐾
