  I will start by saying this review is not a reflection on all the staff there, just the male vet who was on shift during out of hours (28/08/2026). Myself and my partner rushed our 3 month pup to the practice after suspected poisoning. Got there and was made to wait half hour with no communication from the vet. Receptionist kept pestering them as pup was not in a good way at all. Receptionist then said pup could be given to a nurse to be watched, agreed to this and it was another 30/45 minutes before being called in by the Vet. Vet was very rude, wasn't really listening and it was like he just had somewhere better to be. Going through treatment options with him was very stressful and confusing as he kept back tracking and saying things were not covered etc. Eventually pup was put on fluids and glucose. By this time, pup was unconscious and not very responsive. Due to the Vet messing around and basically saying if i did not pay and went through PDSA, pup would die and that he wants to help but this isnt how things work, pup missed the window for induced vomiting. When this was said, myself and my partner started panicking ringing everyone we knew to try and find nearly 2k and told him whatever she needs we will find the money. Eventually vet then told us that he wasn't really going to be doing anything else differently from what the PDSA would cover/suggest. Again, serious and unneeded stress added ontop of everything. Eventually we was told that she is receiving supportive care and poisoning was likely from cannabis (get things flicked over the fence all the time). Was then told to go home, asked if we could see pup before going, was told this isnt a problem. We was then forgotten about and sat in the practice on our own with no staff for nearly 45 minutes. When vet eventually saw us sitting there, he snapped and said to go home, we said we wanted to see her before leaving. Was then taken round the back and was able to see pup before leaving. The overnight female Vet and Nurse were absolutely lovely! Got talking to them about the situation with pup and they were nothing but reassuring, that they have seen this many times before and that she should come around after the fluids have flushed her system. They advised they can't give her activated charcoal due to her being very sleepy and spacey, they did however say as and when she comes round more, that they will try to give it to her. Very lovely Nurse and Vet! Was told to then pick up pup next morning (29/08/26) at 08:30. Nurses brought pup out and she was back to her crazy self! Nurse advised that she came back around at around midnight, was given activated charcoal and continued on fluids. Advised she has eaten, drunk, pooed and weed and that she was making friends. The overnight Vet and Nurse team were absolutely lovely and caring and we go more information out of them in 5 minutes than we did spending near an hour with the OOH vet. OOH vet seriously needs to work on his people and communication skills and shouldn't be pressuring people into paying more than they can afford. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 due to the overnight actually caring! Would go back to the practice, but not to see that Vet again!

  Brought my dog here when he was really ill and the staff were so nice and helpful and when my dog eventually passed they were amazing so respectful and helpful

  Vets are fine and no issues. However customer service is poor. The ladies on reception are doing their best but appear seriously undermanned. When calling the switchboard, if you dont choose the emergency option, you get put through but if no one answers the voice says to ring back and cuts you off. This really bugs me, and doesn't show they care about customers. The reception are struggling to answer the phone when you are there, just look like they need more staff.

  I take my Cane Corso here, and his a very nervous boy which means he can be aggressive towards new people. The nurse, Lorraine, was very patient and understanding of Reggie and his behaviour. Made me feel more comfortable so thank you!
