Brilliant experience today with my anxious dog. We popped in to collect an online order, and the staff were really kind and helped give my dog a positive experience. We really appreciate it, because anxious/nervous dogs can need extra space, and the staff were great. My dog even got given a biscuit to give her a positive experience. Thankyou!

I was really disappointed with the way a member of staff spoke to me about my dog during my visit.
My dog had an accident and a member of staff said, “He’s just pissed all over those boxes, you’ll have to clean it up.” I completely understand that accidents can be inconvenient and I have no problem cleaning up after my dog, but I found the way this was said to be unnecessarily rude and unprofessional.
What makes it particularly disappointing is that this is Pets at Home — a shop specifically centred around pets and their owners. Accidents are sometimes going to happen, especially when animals are in an unfamiliar environment, and I would have expected a little more understanding and professionalism from staff.
I’m more than happy to take responsibility for my dog and clean up after him, but there was no need to speak about the situation or my dog in such a disrespectful way. I hope the staff member receives some guidance on how to communicate with customers more appropriately in future.
