  Unfortunately my dog injured herself late at night. The out of hours service was fantastic, as they fitted us in at 23:50. The radiographs were inconclusive, so we had to come back at 8:30 - this was to be expected and we came away with pain relief for our dog. The quote was £690 and I authorised 1-4 xrays, but opted for sedation instead of GA (which should've been cheaper than the quoted price). We went to pick up our dog and our bill was £1300 despite no complications. We also didn't have a consultation to explain the findings and no after care. This isn't the fault of the vets or the staff who dealt with my distressed self very well, however I feel this is a symptom of over worked vets and the money grabbing corporate veterinary industry. On the other hand, I didn't really appreciate over hearing staff in the back shouting at my distressed dog (who was crying) to 'shut up', I understand it's very stressful to hear a dog crying loudly for a significant period of time, however this is not the way to handle a dog who is anxious and in pain. I will be looking for an independent now to handle the care of my animals. Very disappointing and also feel like I've been fleeced for mere diagnostics - no treatment for my dog and still no plan.

  If I could give minus stars I would. These people are a piece of work. Vet incompetence and greed lead to losing our dog a couple years ago, the vet was more interested in fleecing an old rich couple than my dog. In March 2026 one of our dogs had a tooth stuck in his lip and we were allowed to have an emergency treatment. At no time were we aggressive or abusive but we made a complaint to the ombudsman. So last night my elder dog got into a fight and took our details then told us to bring the dog to them. 15 minutes they called said we were banned and blocked from the service. Funny when earlier when they checked our details there was nothing on our file when they checked our details. Then they are saying 15 minutes later the practice manager said we are now banned with no paperwork or no notice. Which is highly suspicious and definitely retaliation. They do not care about anyone's animals, they only care about the money. Wouldn't mind as much but they are not even decent vets. Went to the vets in Swansea and was much better. Their priority was the animals care and health, not asking for payment as soon as you get through the door. Skip Carmarthen emergency vets and go to Swansea emergency vets. Use independent vets and avoid cvs and other chain vets. I guess its another report to the ombudsman and RCVS about this vet.

  Excellent service, pleasant knowledgeable staff, very helpful, we've rescued 3 birds over the summer the last one( two days ago) was a Manxshear water cliff side bird in the middle of Carmarthen! he was along way from home very cute! They have volunteers that collect these type of animals and reintroduced them into their natural habitat. Great! nothing is too much trouble. We saved a woodpigeon a few weeks ago they fixed him up and released him where we picked him up... all free

  Very grateful for all the support and affection,I got when I brought in my Stanley who ate chocolate:( . One lady I do remember is Kayla- she was very reassuring throughout and keep calm. Thanks everyone you do a great job.
