Groomers were far too busy to squeeze in a nail clipping! Told me to come back at 5:45.

Really good Pets at Home in Macclesfield with a great selection of everything you could need for your pets. The store is clean, tidy and well organised, making it easy to find what you’re looking for.
There’s a good range of pet food, treats, toys, bedding and accessories, with plenty of choice for different pets. They also had hamsters in store, which were lovely to see and looked well cared for.
The staff were friendly, helpful and happy to assist if you needed anything. Overall, a great pet shop with plenty of choice and good customer service. Would definitely recommend Pets at Home Macclesfield and will happily visit again!

The children’s workshop itself was good and my children enjoyed it, but unfortunately the experience was spoiled by the attitude of the blonde member of staff running it today.
From the moment I arrived, I felt that she was noticeably cold and dismissive towards me and another attending adult. She was friendly with the children, but whenever I spoke to my own children or tried to engage, she repeatedly spoke over me or seemed to deliberately disregard what I was saying. At one point she pointed something out, I showed genuine interest and responded to her, and she simply walked straight past me as though I wasn’t there.
I was polite and respectful throughout the whole workshop, so I found her attitude particularly strange and uncomfortable. It wasn’t just one brief interaction either - it was a repeated pattern throughout the session. When I left, we said thank you and she gave me a very abrupt response without even looking up.
I don’t expect staff to be overly friendly or to give adults special attention, but I do expect basic courtesy and respect, particularly when I’m attending an activity with my children. I left feeling genuinely uncomfortable and wondering why we had been treated that way.
I actually asked the other adult accompanying us afterwards whether I had imagined it, and she had independently noticed the same coldness and dismissive behaviour, which reassured me that I wasn’t simply being overly sensitive.
The children enjoyed themselves, which is the important thing, but based on my experience with the blonde member of staff today, I would definitely think twice about attending another workshop.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because no parent should leave a children’s workshop wondering why they were made to feel unwelcome when they had done nothing but be polite and supportive of their children. I would strongly encourage the staff member to reflect on how she speaks to and treats parents, because being friendly to the children does not excuse being openly dismissive towards the adults accompanying them.
