To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting a formal complaint regarding my recent visit to Banfield Pet Hospital located inside the PetSmart in McDonough, Georgia. On February 28, 2026, my cat Lola Blake had a scheduled appointment for the following services: heartworm blood test, rabies vaccination, and the first dose of pyrantel pamoate (50 mg). The veterinary nurse, Taylor Stefan, initially assisted me. Ms. Stefan was professional, courteous, and clear in her communication throughout the interaction. She informed me that my cat would need to be taken to the back treatment area for the bloodwork and rabies vaccine. I agreed. After returning, she advised that the bloodwork and rabies vaccination were completed successfully, but the pyrantel dose was not administered because my cat had become agitated. She explained there are two doses and that she would demonstrate how to administer the first dose, with the second scheduled for March 14. She also informed me that the veterinarian would come in to discuss the visit. Dr. Na’imah N. Anderson then entered the room. She stated that a limited evaluation was performed due to my cat being uncooperative. I asked specifically which parts of the evaluation were not completed, as I pay monthly for Banfield’s wellness plan and wanted clarity on what services were not rendered. Dr. Anderson responded that they were unable to examine my cat’s teeth and ears. I then offered a suggestion: that if my cat was uncooperative in the back treatment area, she could be brought into the exam room with me present to help soothe her so the evaluation could continue. I explained that this was the reason I chose not to do a drop-off appointment, as I am familiar with my cat’s temperament and wanted to assist if needed. Dr. Anderson’s demeanor during this exchange appeared dismissive and unprofessional. Rather than addressing my concern, she asked if I had any other questions. The interaction did not reflect a collaborative approach to care, nor did it demonstrate appropriate client communication. After she exited the room, I spoke with Ms. Stefan, who apologized for the interaction. Dr. Anderson then re-entered and asked whether I wanted her to continue the evaluation. At that point, I declined, as the situation had already escalated unnecessarily. My concern is not about clinical limitations due to animal behavior. I understand that not all procedures can be completed if a pet is distressed. My concern is the lack of communication, professionalism, and collaborative problem-solving when I asked reasonable questions about services I am paying for. The only reason I gave 1 stars is because Taylor Stefan was amazing she deserves 5 stars. Sincerely, Jasmine Blake

I am extremely disappointed with my experience. This is the second time my puppy’s appointment has been rescheduled due to staffing issues. Last week, I was told they were understaffed and had to reschedule. I rearranged my schedule and came back this week after working a 12-hour shift, rushed to pick up my puppy, and made it to the appointment on time — only to be told again that they needed to reschedule. When I asked why I was not notified, I was told a voicemail was left. However, the phone number they had on file was not my number. When I asked if it could be updated, I was told the person at the desk was not the one who entered it, so there was nothing she could do. This situation shows a lack of organization and communication. As a pet owner, I expect accurate records and basic courtesy, especially when it comes to healthcare appointments. Unfortunately, I no longer feel confident bringing my puppy here and will be seeking care elsewhere.

Dislocated my 10 lb yorkies leg during a nail trimming. Staff did not inform me when I picked him up until I mentioned he was limping and then they explained that he pulled away. I wonder how much force someone needs to dislocate a 10 lb dogs leg, who is 15 years old. Staff was not knowledgeable about the incident and took nearly a week to get an X-ray. Banfield then did not want to pay for the procedure that they caused. Will not return. Don’t take your pet if you care for them.

Computer went down and they have no system if this happens. We were in line over 45 mins. It's my understanding that this has happened before. People were in line to try to retrieve pets but could not. I was in line for a prescription which should have taken 5 mins.
